Changing

Chapter 1

Damian's P.O.V.

Me and father were on our way to an abandoned warehouse because we heard that the Joker had a hostage their and we needed to set them free. We quietly snuck through a window on the tenth or eleventh floor of the building and father said "go find the hostage and I'll take care of the Joker. I nodded and started looking around the room. All of a sudden a spotlight came on in the middle of the room and there stood the Joker with a cage hanging from the ceiling beside him. I looked closely at the cage to see a frightened girl inside, that looked like she was crying.

Sarah's P.O.V.

I was in the cage that my dad put me in and I was looking out of it pretending to cry. I am such a good actress aren't I. I watched as Batman ran at my dad and started to fight him. The plan is going perfectly so far  I thought to myself. Then my cage door open and to my amazement my eyes say a young boy.

Damian P.O.V.

I was doing what father had told me to do, free the girl. I opened the cage and my eyes met two grey, shining eyes. I looked at her and said "it's okay we're here to save you." I started to help her out, but instead she ended up falling on top of me. "Sorry" she said in a very quit, soft voice like silk. She got up and offered me her hand which I took and stood up. Still hold hands my father came over and said "we have to go the police are here, they will take care of him." He pointed to the Joker who was tied up inside the cage. The girl looked at Joker with a look of sadness and I said "come on we will take you home." We got on the roof top and father asked "where is your home?" The girl looked down with a sad look on her face and said "I'm an orphan my parents were murdered when I was 6 right in front of me." She then started to cry and fell down onto her knees. Father looked at her and then knelt down next to her and said "my parents were murdered in front of me too." She looked up at me with tears rolling down her face and it made me fell sorry for her. "Father" I said looking at him "can she stay with us until we find her a place to stay?" He looked at me I presume with shock and said "of course if it's okay with you miss." The girl  got up and hug me and said "yes, please I can't stand sleeping on the cold, hard cement anymore." I felt something inside of me that was warm. What is this feeling  I thought, but I shook it off and hugged her back which made her crying stop a little, which I was grateful for.

Sarah's P.O.V.

I was hugging this boy while crying thinking YES HE FELL FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!  The boy hugged me back and it was very uninspected of him from how my dad talks about them. The weird part about it was that my dad never told me there names all he called them was Batman and Robin and nothing else. He looked down at me and said "let's go back to my home." He picked me up bridle style and pulled out a grappling hook and shot the hook to the build beside the one we are on. I held on tight to him as he smirked said "what afraid of heights?" I shook my head 'yes' and he just smiled. He jumped off the build as I was screaming and he landed on the ground next to car cool looking car with Batman not far behind.

Damian's P.O.V.

I jumped off the roof and she started screaming, which in my opinion she had a set of lungs on her. I landed on the ground next to the bat mobile with father landing beside me. We all got into the car and I looked at the clock it said 12:30 am.

******************************************** AT THE MANSION**********************

We walked up to the front door and my father opened it. He led me and the girl into the library and got down on one knee and said "what's your name?" She looked him in the face and said "my name is Sarah." Sarah  her name was beautiful and so was she, wait what am I thinking?  My father looked at her with a smile and said "my name is Bruce and this is my son......" "Damian" I said finishing his sentence. She smiled for the first time at me and said "I like your name." "Thank you" I replied. My father said "Damian take her to the guest room" "yes father." I started walking to the door with her following me, as he started walking down the hall we passed a balcony and she looked out, but kept walking. Just a few feet from the window I stopped and opened a door for her and said "this will be your room, if you need anything my father's room is two doors down and mine is in the next room." "Thank you" she said. She walked into the room and said "good night Damian" while shutting the door. "Night" I said before I walked to my room.

******************************************TEN MINUTES LATER***********************

Bruce's P.O.V.

I was walking down to my room and I saw that the balcony door was open and I looked outside to see Sarah standing there looking out singing a song, I couldn't make out.  I walked through the door and asked "why are you up Sarah?" She stopped singing and said "I have sleep insomnia" was all she said. I really felt sorry for this child. "So how do you regularly go to sleep at night" she sighed and said "sometimes I don't, but most of the time I just sing myself to sleep." "And that's why your out here singing," "yep" she said. "Well you have a beautiful voice" she looked at me with a smile and said "thank you." "Will you sing for me" I asked her. Her smile became even brighter if that was possible and said "of course!"

Sarah's P.O.V.

I started singing the song 'Say Something' thinking technically I'm not lying to him I do have sleep insomnia, but me AND my mom sing together and I always go to sleep. And I can't sleep now either, so basically I'm not lying. After I sung a few other songs I started to fall asleep and Bruce said "now let's go to sleep." I staggered to my room and as soon as my head hit the pillow I fell asleep.

Bruce's P.O.V.

She is a sweet girl and deserves a better life. I closed her door and called Alfred to my side in the library and said "Alfred I have made up my mind tomorrow me and Damian are going to go buy her new clothes and medication to help her with her sleep insomnia, so if you don't mind could you call the office and tell them I'll be in late tomorrow." "Yes, sir" he said as he walked off to make a note of it. I then walked to my room and went to bed.
