Tears threatened to fall from Niee's eyes. She gave everything she had and put it into her relationship with Dylan but he threw it all away by sleeping with her best friend Morgan.
"H-hello?" She choked out as she sat in the confines of her car. "Odell I need to see you."
"What's wrong?" His deep voice jumped with urgency. Odell had been Niee's best male friend since diapers. Their mother's best friends through high school and college, ironically getting pregnant around the same time only strengthened their bonds which translated into their children's friendship to each other. Odell was more like a big brother to her than anything.
"Dylan cheated on me Dellie!" She sobbed pitifully. "Can I come over please?" The engine of her car revved making Odell groan.
"No, you don't need to be driving like this, I'll come get you." Niee could hear the rustling of his bed in the background.
"But I'm at Morgan's."
"I don't give a fuck, I'm on the way now." He didn't hang up on her, he just let her cry through the phone until he got there, snatch her into a huge hug when he saw her.
It was no secret that Odell had had feelings for Niee since about 10th grade of high school. Niee was just too oblivious to see it. So anytime she called him up with relationship problems with Dylan, he tried his best to not show his anger.
The whole drive back to his place, Niee ranted and raved about all the things he'd done over the past 6 years from cheating once before and having a baby, to proposing and then cheating the week after, the guy was a scumbag that in way, shape, or form was good enough for Niee.
"Niee, stop crying." Odell was comforting her on his couch, rubbing her lower back and kissing the top of her head. "He's not worth the tears sweetheart. Any nigga foul enough to do the shit he's done doesn't deserve a girl as beautiful and sweet as you are."
Niee's muffled sniffles hesitated for a second as she spoke. "Yeah but I love him Dellie. He's the one."
"Stop being stupid Niee, that's not love. That's being blinded by dick. He cheated on you and has a baby, you walked in on him fucking your best friend. That's not love, that's so far from love it's not even funny. That's a dog ass nigga." He held Niee's chin up with the tip of his index finger. "You need a man. A man that's gone treat you right and show you all the things in life that you deserve." He got her to smile, making his heart flutter. Her smile was always so gorgeous, it brightened up any room she was in, all eyes fell on her. "You need a man like me."
"What?" Niee's eyes widened at the left this conversation just took. "A man like you?"
"I've been in love with you since the dawn of time Niee, I've held back all these years watching you destroy yourself with that dude. You deserve so much more and you know it." Odell leaned in with a kiss but she pulled back immediately.
"No Odell, it's not right." Her eyes were skating from side to side, a pudding his face. "We're like siblings."
"No we aren't. Kiss me and tell me you don't feel the same way." He sat up straight and looked at her confused face. Maybe it was wrong he take advantage of her feelings at this moment in time but he just couldn't hold back the feelings anymore. This was his last straw. Niee sat and pondered for a few more minutes before she nodded her head and leaned his direction. When their lips met it was like everything started to make sense for the both of them. "I love you so much Niee, let me love you the way you deserve."

As the sun peeked through the sheer white curtains in Odell's bedroom. She looked over at him, sleeping peacefully with his fave buried in the soft pillows. Sheets tangled between their naked bodies. The previous nights activities were all a blur except one thing, the sweet love they made. Content and seeing the world through rose colored glasses, Niee got up and cooked them some breakfast.
"Good morning." Odell's hand wrapped around her torso while he left quick little pecks across her shoulder. "You look beautiful today."
"Thank you." She smile wide, transferring their bacon and eggs from a pan to their plates. "Thank you for everything."
The rest of their day was spent discussing the next steps of their relationship. After how he made her feel she was convinced it was only right to break up with Dylan for good and start something with her best friend and the true love that'd been hidden beneath her nose all this time.
