Chapter 4

"So what you guys doing here?" I ask confused as to why my fun day of breaking rules and having fun is ruined.

"Oh what we can't just hang around our little sis anymore?" Zach says acting as if he had just taken a blow to the heart.

I roll my eyes at his idiocy. "Well I mean I guess" I shrug and walk over to a bin to throw my trash away. "But really what's up?" I say walking back.

"Well it's not fair that you always get to skip school and we don't" says Carson.

"It's not like I 'get ' to." I say using my fingers for quotation marks around the word get. "I don't ask for permission Carse." I say clarifying what I do. "Plus it's not like Mom and Dad would even care they're never home anyways." I say waiting for Tony to come back from going to throw his trash away, so we can leave the boys already.

"Just cause they're not here doesn't mean they don't care." Zach scolds me as if it was my fault I feel that way about them. "Well how would you know? You and I both know they'd rather spend their time at work than at home with us." I say getting angry yet hurt at the same time because I know its true, I've just never said it aloud before.

"See you guys later." I say not able to look at my brothers as I walk away with Tony because I know they will all have shock and hurt written on their facial expressions from my outburst.

"Soo.." Tony says not really knowing what to do in this situation. "Want to go play some games?" He asks a little later obviously trying to lighten my mood a bit.

"Wooo!" I yell riding on the rollercoaster for about the tenth time today.

"Well looks like we should be going soon its about 7:25 and I got to be home by 9:00" Tony says as we exit the ride.

My smile faulters a little but doesn't change my mood because today was really fun even though sometimes Tony and I would run into my brothers and it would get kind of awkward. Also because we still have time to ride another ride or go get funnel cakes! Just then I see a sign for a booth with funnel cakes. I look to Tony with a pleading look in my eyes gesturing to the booth. "Please" I say knowing I'm acting childish but don't care because funnel cakes are delicious. "Alright, alright but you have to share with me." He says. "Yay!" I grab the money he was holding out for me and run to the booth hearing Tony laughing from behind me where he's standing.

Getting in line I see the new kid from our school in line infront of me. Being me I tapped on his shoulder, "Hey your Ashton right?" I say smiling at him as he turns around.

"Yeah...Elizabeth?" He says in question looking me over and smirking.

"Yep thats me." I say awkwardly.

"So.. What're you doing here?" I ask as the line moves up slightly.

"Just came to see more of Santa Monica I guess." He says shrugging before he turns around to order. I nod even though he can't see me as he's turned around.

I don't know why but I feel really awkward around him. I can't talk right or say what I want to it's like all my confidence is drained when I'm around him and it's intriguing to know why he has that effect on me unlike anybody else.

"Hey Lizz" I turn to see Ashton holding his food about to walk away. "I'll see you around." With that he smirks and leaves. Not waiting for my reply.

"Next!" The lady at the booth calls making me look back at the vender.

"Oh..uh can I get a funnel cake?" I say almost forgetting why I came to the booth in the first place.

"That will be $5.99" I hand her the money and grab the dessert making my way back to Tony who was sitting at a bench on his phone.

"I'm back" I say sitting next to him. He puts his phone away and smiles "took you long enough."

The way home

"Uhh I don't want to go home already" I say not wanting the day to be over.

"Sorry Liz I would ask you to come over but I'm grounded and you know my mom." He says making me pout. "Yeah I know... Thanks for today it was really fun" I say giving him a smile as we reach my driveway.

"No problem see you tomorrow?" He says stopping the truck for me to get out. "Yeah" I smile giving him a quick hug before getting out and walking up the steps to the house while hearing Tony drive off. Before unlocking the door I take a deep breath.. Here comes the awkwardness that happens after we argue.

I open the door and walk through the small hallway before seeing Zach, Carson, and Mason sitting on the couch in the living room watching a movie. I notice Zach look up at me then back to the movie as if I wasn't there. Carson and Mason just sit there ignoring my presence. So I walk upstairs to third floor wich I share with my twin and find Ricky listening to music with his eyes closed laying on his bed with the door open.

I sigh and walk into my room. I almost cry when I walk past a photo of my me and my parents that was ontop of my dresser. The picture was taken on my 8th birthday when my parents took me out to go get icecream, it was just the three of us. I had icecream on my nose and was trying to lick it off while my mom and dad were laughing at me because my eyes were going cross eyed.

I remember the day like yesterday yet it was about 8 and a half years ago. I don't really see my parents anymore it's been like that ever since I was 13. They just stopped staying home often saying they had to work and stuff. I've gotten used to it by now but it always has made me mad how they're never around anymore.

Knock

Knock

Knock

I hear so I look up not even realizing that I was crying until now. Wiping my eyes and looking in the mirror to make sure I didn't look to bad I open my door. "Yeah?" I say quietly.
