Point of View: Narrator

Silence filled the room as both Nicki and Meek stared each other down.

Nicki: "Are you gonna fucking talk or not, Meek?" she screamed.

Meek: "Baby, listen..it's not what you think."

Nicki: "I don't think I asked you to be the spokesperson of my thoughts. Don't you dare tell me it's not what I think. I said explain YOURSELF...15 seconds my nigga."

Meek looked at her with a hurt expression, but he began to talk, knowing Nicki was not one to be tested at the moment.

Meek: "Well, Keisha, the girl who you threw ya drink on...she been working here for almost a month, maybe three or four weeks. She from Philly and she ain't got shit, so I sometimes help her out and--"

Nicki: "Who the fuck died and made you Captain Super-Save-A-Hoe ? That's the problem with y'all niggas today...always wanna--"

Meek: "Baby, let me finish please." Nicki gave him a head nod approving his request to complete his explanation. "Look Nic, I pray all that money don't go to my head...I told myself when I start getting it, I was gone take care of my family and my hood. She knew me, my family." Meek looked over at Nicki and he could tell she was not completely satisfied with his justification, but he continued anyway.

"I just didn't wanna be one of those other niggas that get money, move out the hood, and then forget his people and where he came from...the ones who don't help the people struggling. So I helped her out a little here and there, gave shorty a job at the club. The day I left for Philly, on the way there she called me and told me her moms was sick and she needed an advance on her check for a plane ticket to Philly. I know I probably shouldn't have baby, but since I was already going there, I offered her a ride and I guess she left the lipstick in the truck. That's it..nothing happened," he said sincerely.

Nicki's face started to soften and you could tell she wasn't as mad, but she still had a problem with his story.

Nicki: "So why you didn't tell me that when I called you that night? Or when I asked about the lipstick in the first place? And see, look at the way you ran off to Philly that night on the beach, rushing and shit...all I'm saying is you look guilty in the situation, Rihmeek. It looked like you was hiding something."

Nicki was a little choked up and it was obvious that she wanted to believe Meek, but she was afraid of being hurt again. However, she was relieved that she was wrong about what she thought Meek did. It did something to Meek to see Nicki second guessing him. He promised her that he would show her different from what Safaree did and here he was, making her cry.

Meek began to walk towards her and she tensed up. When they were inches apart, Meek grabbed her waist and pulled her towards him so that he could hug her. She hesitated at first, but she eventually gave in. The only sounds in the office were Nicki's light sniffles as Meek rubbed soothing circles along the nape of her back.

Meek: "Baby, tell me you know I'm not studying no other girl. I know what it looks like, but you know I ain't even trying to do that shit. Before this incident, have I given you any reason to doubt me?" He asked. And it was the truth, Meek had always been honest and upfront. He's never lied to her before. Nicki knew that, but it was still hard for her to trust again after what she went through with Safaree.

Nicki: "It's n-not," she cleared her throat. "It's not that, I just been hurt soooo much," she broke down. He grabbed her tighter and started rubbing her hair. He left kisses on top of her head as she sobbed heavily on Meek's chest.
