Alomna Avenue was a private estate, decorated in nothing but potted plants and broken tarmac.
Yind walked down the winding road leading past the thirteen houses occupying the estate, aside Lei.
"I thought there would be more people here, it's so quiet, and we're not that far from Anova's clearing." Yind says.
"I expected more people to be running, yelping and screaming, it's too silent..." Lei replies.
"People probably wanted to get as far away as possible from the debris, so as they're not accused of being Yaon." he says.
"Possible, or they wanted to get away from the explosions that would have killed them had they not been so fast," she replies, "people will do anything to avoid death, even if it means murdering someone themselves."
"It's terrifying to acknowledge that what you said is true, it's pathetic."
They walked towards the ninth house on the left side of the street, looking up at the beautifully plain mansion that stood before them, and walked up the driveway, "I wonder if Yaon made it here alive?" he says.
"She's alive, she always escapes unscathed."
They reached the red marble door, and knocked the brass handle. The door opened immediately, eyes peered out at them from darkness, "Come in." Yaon whispers.
"We didn't need an invitation."
"Want me to slam this door in your face, you bastard?" Yaon smiled.
"No thank you." he replied, brushing past Yaon and entering the dining hall.
"How the fuck did you survive that one?" Lei laughed.
"I didn't think I would, it was either skill or luck."
"It was luck."
"It always is, every time I leave this house I feel and acknowledge that I won't come back alive, and it shocks me that to this date I always have."
Lei thought for a moment, was it the same for her? She didn't take huge risks like Yaon, she didn't go straight in like Yaon did and set off a dozen explosions. What did she do? She planned, she planned each attack to the last moment and made sure that everyone participating in the assault was willing to give their life to the cause.
"We have a new assignment, it's huge." Lei says.
"What?" fear stains Yaon's eyes.
"We're attacking the power station."
"But that place is guarded by over 260 Empire guards, what the hell are you thinking?"
"We have a plan."
"You have a plan."
"I have a damn crazy plan."
"And what does this crazy plan involve?" Yaon replies.
"You going into the power plant as a prisoner and climbing up an incinerator shaft to get into the main hub."
"You're fucking insane."
