"The-the.....outside?"
"It's what I said."
"How-how......"
"I don't know. Yaon may never come back."
"There's no other way to find the cure?"
"Not to my knowledge. My grandfather passed away six months ago."

Yind cried. He wasn't afraid, he'd lost someone dear to him. The pain of knowing that Yaon was almost gone hit him like a brick.

"We can try."
"What?" Lei said, tears streaming down her face.
"We can try to get Yaon back."
"How?"
"We find more of us."
"We don't kno-"
"We can't be the only people," Yind interrupted, "there has to be more like us."
"And if we do so?"
"We escape and find the cure."
"Dragon."

The dragon. The major thing in their way. A dragon guarded their whole city gate, what goes in and out. Anybody who has tried to escape has always come back in shambles, sometimes their bodies can't be recovered.

"We scale the dragon using grapple gear."
"Dragons have wings and fire, Yind."
"That they do. We'll find some way around that."
"What about the Empire?"
"We'll find someone."
"Sure? The only people said to be able to shape into a Empire official is a-"
"-Fullshifter." Yind completed, "I know what they are. I don't know, maybe we'll be lucky."
"How do we find them?"

Yind thought. It shouldn't be too hard. He'd heard of mysterious happenings in the East sector.

"The East sector is rumoured to be full of shifters."
"You're trying to find a way around everything I point at you."
"We have powers, Lei. We need to use them for some good."
"That good is?"
"In the process, we could kill the Lord Ruler."

"You're kidding me. That's impossible."
"It's not. A fullshifter has the ability to kill her."
"We don't have a full shifter."
"Yes. We do, actually."
"What the fuck are you talking about?!"

Yind contemplated telling her about his cousin. She could be trusted, he knew that.

"My cousin, Vin, is a fullshifter. She's been hiding her ability for years. We can use her."
"You're going to put a fullshifter at risk here?! You know what they can do for us? They're valuable."
"I understand that, but she's special. She has something in her, something I haven't seen in the only other fullshifter I knew."
"Dima is dead. She wasn't ready."
"DON'T YOU THINK I KNOW THAT?! I PLANNED THE MISSION SHE WENT ON. BECAUSE OF ME, I LOST A FULLSHIFTER. DON'T YOU SEE THE SHAME AND PAIN I HAVE TO GO THROUGH?!?!"
"This plan is idiotic."
"Yet it has potential, with Vin. You want Yaon back, and I'm getting her back. You don't have to join if you don't want to."

"Fine. But only because I want Yaon back from those bastards."
"You're in charge of plans."
"I'll need help. This is full-scale insanity you're trying to plan, Yind, and I can't do it on my own."
"You don't have to."
"Go to the East sector, find others."
"Good luck."

Yind turned his back, heading for the front door. Until Lei whispered,
"Yind? Don't die on me over there. That place is vicious, and you're all I have left. If you manage to create a team with enough potential, you could actually overthrow the Empire. You're a beacon of light, of hope. Don't let that light go out."
