The ground below Yaon exploded in debris, she was hurled forcefully to the other side of the room, into the stone slabs. She was instantly knocked unconscious and her head appeared to be bleeding, along with her nose.
A hole had been seared where Yind and Lei had stood, they had avoided the blast and were now looking down at the smoke and ash of the chamber.
"YAON! YAON, WHERE ARE YOU? ARE YOU OKAY? YAON!" Lei screamed. They needed to get out, fast. Guards would be crowding the room in minutes. Screams had already erupted, and prisoner's shrieks could be heard through the now disintegrated incinerator shaft.
Yind jumped down, into the smoke, and landed on a piece of thrown stone. He stood, searching the room for Yaon, until his eyes finally found her. He ran over, checked her pulse, and scooped her into his arms.
"SHE'S ALIVE, BUT WE NEED TO GET HER OUT NOW. SHE WON'T SURVIVE FOR LONG WITH ALL THE BLOOD SHE'S LOSING." He yelled up to Lei, "THIS WASN'T IN THE PLAN, WHAT DO WE DO?"
Lei thought for a moment, this sure as hell was not in the plan. What could they do, with guards surely running for them, and Yaon now a huge weight for Yind, what could they do?
"I have a plan."
"It's crazy, insane, and impossible. Isn't it?"
"Yes. It always is."
Lei jumped down to join them, "Keep her on your shoulders, and follow me." She took her katana out of her belt and ran for a door to her right. Through, they found themselves in a marble white hallway, empty, but not for long. They ran down, checking left and right each crossway they found.
"Where are we going to leave through?!" Yind said in panic.
"The front entrance."
"The front entrance?! THE FUCKING FRONT ENTRANCE?! ARE YOU CRAZY?"
"Yes. Yes, I am."
They ran further down the hallway, until they encountered a squad of soldiers. They were dressed in green, and held swords alike hers.
"Hello, boys." She sneered.
She rushed forward, swinging her katana out and engaging in contact with the first soldier. He bounded forward, swinging his sword to Lei's left. She blocked the sword from contact, and pushed down her strength onto it. The sword fell out of his hands, and she got a clean strike to his intestines.
She jumped over the crippled man, swinging her sword at the second, who easily blocked her strikes and shoved her backwards. She stumbled, near falling over, but stood straight after moments.
"Impressive," she said, blowing her auburn hair out of her face, "Impress me, make me cower in fear." She lashed her katana out as the young man stared at her in confusion, striking his leg. He let out a yelp of pain.
"BITCH!" he screamed, tumbling over in pain. She didn't need to engage any more with him, he'd bleed out in minutes.
The last soldier looked on in shock, he couldn't believe he had just seen his comrades die before his very eyes. He turned his back, running from Lei, but was striked with her katana in the back. A clean throw.
"COME ON!" she yelled, "WE NEED TO GET TO THE FRONT."
Yind ran with Lei, as she plucked her katana out of the man's back. They turned down a hallway to see the worst possible thing. The supposed dead, Soulanz.

Yind looked in terror at the screaming people rushing out of the prison sector building. She was on wall duty that evening, and had just been doing her third round when the gas chamber exploded and chaos erupted everywhere.
Holy shit, what the hell was going on? She thought. Was it the rebellion? Oh god.
She stood for a moment, eyes widened, when another of her comrades ran up to her,
"We're to go in, try to fend off whoever is causing this."
Right into the action? So soon? Damn. These rebels must be serious as hell.
"Right, of course." She replied, confidence in her voice, when she was collapsing on the inside. Death? Was today her final day? Would she die on this day?
Irid jumped, using her applied grapple gear to jump to the main building. She ran inside along her squad, prepared.
Prepared for death. Prepared to go down fighting.

Lei looked on in terror, what?
"YOU-YOU'RE DEAD." She screamed, "WHAT THE FUCK?!"
"Funny. You can't get rid of me that easily, shapeshifter. You see, I'm practically immortal."
"I-Immortal? No way." Yind whispered.
"IMPOSSIBLE. THE ONLY PERSON IMMORTAL IN HIJEKINSHYNA IS THE LORD RULER." Lei screamed.
"Correct." Soulanz said with a sneer.
"Then why do you lie – why say you're immortal?"
"Because I am."
A dawn of realization came upon Yind, this person they were dealing with was serious – no joke. This person was dangerous – the most dangerous person in all of Hijekinshyna.
"LEI, GET DOWN."
Yind ran and grabbed Lei, pulling her to the floor as a blast of dark liquid was fired toward them. Yind then rolled them to the side of the hall, avoiding more shots of the dark shit.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Lei screamed.
"SHE'S THE LORD RULER, LEI. SHE'S THE ONE CONTROLLING US ALL, THE DRAGON, EVERYTHING."
"Indeed." Soulanz inputted.
Yind spotted a window, merely three metres away from them.
"When I say "GO" you run towards that window, okay?"
"Fine."
They avoided more of the acidic liquid, until finally, "GO!" Yind yelled.
They both got up, ran for the window, acid flying at them, and smashed through the window as they sliced their palm and shifted into birds.
Yind had thrown the bombs onto the floor of the hallway, to mask the direction they were flying to. The factory behind them blew into pieces, but the front entrance and prison was saved from the fire.
It was until they were back at their home, when it dawned upon them.
"That was insane."
"Soulanz. She's-she's the Lord Ruler."
"I can't believe it."
"Where's Yaon, Lei? Did she go for a nap?"
"I don't know, I haven't seen her since we got out."
"Oh my god."
"What?!" Lei replied, concerned.
"Yaon- I never had her on my back as a bird."
"OH MY GOD."
"I left her in the hallway, where I set off the bombs....."
