A Dim Light In The Darkness - Part 3

The looming structure of the Imperial castle sent shivers down Irid's spine. Though she had worked in the building for several years, she had yet to grow comfortable with the darkness it cast over the city.

Yesterday's events would be a huge financial crisis for the Empire, it also wouldn't help that Irid would probably receive beatings from her boss. She had been on the scene, but had been too much of a coward to engage. That is where her dedication to the Empire reached a line, death.

She walked forward, keeping her eyes down as people passed by, trying not to attract attention to herself. She slipped in through the glass doors and entered the waiting room.

The room was adorned with stunning decoration. Banners hung on three walls, coloured a dark read and words were scrawled across the face of each one,

'The fight will only result in chaos, chaos is war.'

Words to encourage the end of rebellion.
She strode up to the stone arched stairway, and started making her way up to her office on the fifth floor of the twenty-seven floored building.

After what seemed like ages and climbing up and endless flight of stairs, Irid finally reached her room. Paintings of the Lord Ruler lined the room, an oak desk lay at the centre of the room, just behind a beige carpet.

Papers stacked the desk, mounds upon mounds of sheets.
In that moment, she really hated the rebellion.

Yind breathed, "Are you serious?"
The dining hall wasn't huge, but it was fine, fruit and other meat was set out on the table, nothing was made to see it as home, they wouldn't be staying long.

"My plan is the best we've got, it also gives us a better chance."
"It's too dangerous."
"EVERYTHING WE HAVE EVER DONE WAS DANGEROUS, THAT IS WHY I PUT MY LIFE OUT ON THE LINE, THAT IS WHY I DO ALL OF THIS KNOWING THAT SOMEDAY I'M GOING TO DIE, AND YOU CAN SWEAR THAT I'M GOING TO DIE FIGHTING FOR THE ONE THING I BELIEVE IN. TELL ME THE TRUTH YIND, ARE YOU REALLY WILLING TO GIVE TO THE CAUSE? OR IS EVERYTHING "TOO DANGEROUS" THINK, HAVE SOME SENSE AND THINK OVER WHY YOU AGREED TO FIGHT WITH US."

"I agreed to fight because I want to leave these walls."
"And if we do this, if we make it, then there. There's your chance to leave, to not feel like a caged bird, to be free. Here's your chance, take it."
"Repeat the plan to me again."
"Dear god, fine. At 7 pm every night, prisoners go back into their cells, Yaon will be fully clothed as a prisoner and she'll scale her way down the wall using her ability. That's where she's on her own, and we can only help through speakers. Once she's locked in a cell, she'll transform into her leopard and use her claws to get through the bars. She'll then find the incinerator shaft, located at the right wing of the prisons and climb in. Once she's in, she'll go into bird form, and fly up before anything of movement is detected. This is where we come back in, after using grapple gear, we'll be on the roof, there's tiny vents to allow air in, and we'll drop 10 bombs in. Yaon will set them on the timer, make sure they're positioned away from the cells so no prisoners get injured, but close enough to the power generator to blow it up. She'll then get back in bird form, and fly out through a window."

"How will I get out the window?" Yaon mutters.
"Smash through."
"I'm up for it, and Yind, it's not your call whether or not I do this."
Yind thought, this plan was crazy, yet amazingly clever. Maybe this could get them closer to escaping, it would also be a major loss to the Empire.

"Okay. I'm in."
"Two days. You have two days to prepare."
"I'm ready."
"No. Mentally, this is going to seem impossible when you get there, trust me and don't back out at the last second."
