Chapter 9: The Day His Life Changed for the Worst

I pulled my hair in frustration and looked back into the dark night sky. Naru's screams echoes through my mind as Naru continued his pain in our mindscape. This has been going on for far too long. This has been going on ever since, we met that man. All those years ago.......

----------------------------------------------------Flashback: 4 years------------------------------------------------

It had been two whole year since Naru left Konoha, and in that short period of time, he had become the ultimate prodigy. Under the tutelage of all of the jinchuurikis and Bijuus, he had mastered taijutsu, ninjutsu, and genjutsu. He had also mastered using Kura's chakra. Now he and Kura were in Kiri, at the beach. "Yagura Nii-San! Utakata Nii-San!!! Look h-here!!" The two jinchurikis looked over from their beach chairs to see the little eight year old blonde building a sand sculpture. It was a perfect recreation of Kurama, with his long hair tied up into little pigtails and him wearing a tutu. "Oh my Kami that is hilarious!!" Utakata screamed at the top of his lungs while rolling on the floor with Yagura stifling a laugh beside him. "NARU!!!" Kura ran after the little blond while he ran off laughing his head off. " Yagura, do you think that Naru will be ok?" The young Mizukage looked over at his friend and smiled slightly, "He will until Kura catches him."

Kurama's POV
I chased my kit through some trees at the edge of the beach. Dammit, why did I have to make him the stealthiest ninja around! I relaxed into a tree and tried to catch my breath. I thought back over the last two years, Naru befriending Gaara, our hilarious visit with B and A. How Naru brought Utakata back to Kiri, and got Yagura to reinstate him as a Kiri ninja. My dear kit, he's like a ball of sunshine, no matter where he goes he always makes everyone smile. With all of his skills, the most powerful was his charisma, and ability to be a ray of sunshine in the darkness of this world. "AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" I turned my head towards the sudden scream. That was Naru! I got up and ran as quickly as I could. " Kura, what was that?" I turned to the frantic Yagura and Utakata running along beside me. "I don't know.....'' We ran towards the noise until we arrived at a gruesome sight. Blood was splattered on all the trees, the ground was filled with holes and the grass was burned away. The worst thing was the unconscious Naru in the hands of a man fully cloaked in black. " WHO ARE YOU AND WHY DO YOU HAVE MY KIT?" I screamed in outrage. Yagura readied his staff and Utakata pulled out a slim sword. The man in black grabbed kits hand and whispered something under his breath. A black light surrounded kit's hand and he pulled away to reveal a large black seal on Kit's arm. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM YOU BASTARD?!" Utakata screamed. "Hahahahaha! I did nothing to my precious Naru, I just gave him a little present." I lunged at the black cloaked bastard in an attempt to kill the little shit for hurting my kit. He gave a maniacal smile and disappeared in a flash of the same black light he used against Naru. All I saw was his eyes, they were completely black with purple pupils. "HELL! I WILL KILL HIM! I WILL GUT HIM LIKE A FISH AND FEED HIS ENTRAILS TO KAMI!!!" I punched a few trees until I was held back by Yagura. "We need to get Naru to a hospital, now. He is too injured and is in dire need of medical care. We can hunt down that man later but our first priority is helping Naru." I nodded my head and gently lifted my kit into my arms. Utakata blew one of his signature bubbles and we were transported to the medical sector of the Mizukage building. "He will be fine Kura, don't worry." The golden eyed jinchuriki said reassuringly while hiding his worried look. I waited outside of that hospital for Kami know how long,praying to anything I could to help Naru. After hours of intensive care the doctor finally came out. "How is he? Is he ok? What happened? Can I go and see him?" I grabbed the doctor's collar and shook him furiously. "Sir, Sir, he is fine. He just needs a little rest. But he is asking for you. There are a few things that you shou..." I pushed past the doctor and ran into Naru's room. I looked in horror at what had happened to my kit. His chest and arms were covered in bandages, his eyes were dark with large bags under them. However the one thing that was strange was the only uncovered part of his arms, the large mark from where the cloaked bastard grabbed him. I looked at it closer and inspected the intricate design. It was a sun surrounded by two circles, and there were five large lines sticking on the outside, and multiple smaller lines in the empty space. "Naru, are you ok kit?" I said gently as I walked closer to him. "Y-yeah Kura, I-I'm fine." He said quietly as he tried to shrink into his sheets. I sighed at the stuttering and started to rub his back and cuddled next to him. That day had changed Naru forever, and in the worst way possible.

Third POV

In the middle of an empty forest clearing a tall blonde child laid on the soft grass. The sun shone brightly and the air was crisp and filled with peaceful birdsong. Naruto slept peacefully, even though he should have woken up after Kura returned to the mindscape and pushed Naru back into control. "SASUKE-KUN!!!!!" The loud banshee scream filled the air and abruptly woke up the sleeping blond. The hell was that? I think it is what one calls, a fan-girl scream Kit. Well I give no shits. I need my beauty sleep and that noise is annoying. Naru, the power of fan-girl is too powerful to be destroyed. I give no shits Kura, I am going to gut that person and feed their soul to Shinigami-San. I am going to second you on that Kit, just be careful not to let them unleash their ultimate power. Got it Kura!! Naruto got up and stretched his sore limbs. It was the day of the genin exams, the day Naruto would prove to the shitty villagers that he was not the weak child that they broke all those years ago. Hey Kura! What Kit? Do you think that we should arrive with style? When have we not kit? How true....... Iruka shook in the distance, he had an ominous feeling, the feeling that something big was going to happen during these exams. "I knew I should have become a zoo-keeper...." And two others also had a sense of dread immediately overcome them. "Hey Ino-pig! Do you feel that?" "Yeah, billboard brow, it kinda makes me feel like someone is going to kill me. But that isn't true because Sasuke-Kun  will save me before that happens!" "NO WAY! HE WOULD SAVE ME BEFORE HE WOULD SAVE AN UGLY PIG LIKE YOU!!!!" "LIKE HELL HE WOULD"The girls screamed at the top of their lungs. "SHUT THE HELL UP YOU STUPID BANSHEES!! BEFORE I COME THERE AND MURDER YOUR ASSES!!!!!"

Now there are some things that need to be said,

The next chapter will be the genin exams, and an explanation about what the mysterious mark does.
