Chapter 22: Redemption

Third POV

Nitsu walked out of the makeshift operating room, his shoulders hung low. His once clean blue scrubs now covered in blood."How did the operation go?" The rest had sat themselves in the living room, while Mito was still in the operating room with Naruto. Nitsu shook his head, "I'm sorry to say..." Kura's eyes began to fill with tears, "What's wrong? What happened?"

Nitsu began to take off his blood covered gloves, "I'm sorry to say that we are out of cookies. The operation was a success, both of them did great." Nitsu smirked. Kura growled and smacked the bluenette on the head, "YOU BAKA! I THOUGHT MY KIT HAD DIED YOU IDIOT!" Nitsu cocked his head, "Kura, if Naruto died then you would have known. Also, I'm one of the best doctors out there, there's no way he could have died. Now you guys can go see them, Naru's awake and healthy." Sakura and Sasuke sighed and ran past Nitsu to see Naruto. Nitsu pouted, "I go and save him, and I don't even get a single thank you. It was a hard operation you know! It took a lot of my chakra and-" Nitsu was cut off by Kurama giving a big hug. "Thank you Nitsu. I am very grateful, thank you for helping my kit. We are forever in your debt." Nitsu patted the sobbing Kitsune on the back, "Stop crying you big lug. You're supposed to be this big and scary fox lord that everyone's terrified of." Kura pulled back and wiped his tears, "Yeah I know." Nitsu smiled and pulled out a chocolate bar, "Quick question, who's house is this?"

"NARUTO!" The blonde looked up to see his friends panting in the doorway. "Hey guys, sorry about the little scare." "Little? You could have died Naruto!" Naruto chuckled and patted next to him, "Nah, that was nothing. Sit down, I'll tell you about my training with Nitsu. That's a fun story." Sasuke and Sakura sat down next to Naruto. "Hey Naru, where's Mito?" Naruto looked up, "She went to get some apples. I think she said something about making bunny apples." Sakura smiled, "Now isn't that nice." Naruto nodded, "Yeah, she's been by my side ever since I woke up. When I opened my eyes, she started sobbing and thanking Kami." Sasuke held up a hand, "Yo, I don't want to break up the new found sister love talk, but I wanna hear about your training!" Naruto nodded, "Oh yeah. Well, when I first trained with Nitsu..."

Third POV

"Naruto please come down from the tree! I'm not going to hurt you, we're just gonna train!" Nitsu cried out to the young Naruto who had somehow made his way up a giant snow covered tree. Naruto gently shook his head. Nitsu groaned and slumped into the snow, "Why did Kura go shopping? Probably cause I only have gummy bears and hot chocolate for food....Nah that's a perfectly well balanced diet. NARUTO COME DOWN! YOU'LL GET SICK!" Naruto shivered at the screaming and tears formed in his eyes, "P-Please d-don't h-hurt me!" Nitsu's eyes softened and he sat down criss cross. The boy was scared, this was the first time Kurama had left him alone with a stranger. "Hey Naruto, how about we play a fun game?" Naruto peeked out from the tree, "G-game? W-what's a game? A-Are y-you going t-to h-hurt me?"Nitsu smiled, "No I'm not going to hurt you buttercup! A game is an activity engaged in for diversion or amusement, well according to Merriam Webster to be precise. It's a very fun game, you can trust me! If you win I'll give you some candy!" Naruto raised an eyebrow, "Candy?" "A treat, for winning!" Naruto nodded slowly and started walking down the tree, controlling his chakra so that his feet stuck to the surface. Nitsu sighed in relief and patted next to him, "Alright Naru, the game we're gonna play is called 'Guess'. Lame, I know." Nitsu snapped his fingers and a screen appeared, "We're gonna watch a scene and you need to guess the answers to my questions. If you guess right, I'll give you a chocolate." "A-and i-if I guess w-wrong?" Nitsu mocked a thinking stance, "Then...I get a candy. Now let's play!"
