Run

3rd Person

Ingrid continued to advance towards Ezra with the red lightsaber still clutched in her hands. She lifted the lightsaber above her head, ready to cut him in half.

But then, she did something rather unexpected. She leaned down and whispered to him, "Run!"

Ingrid turned around and stabbed the nearest stormtrooper with the red saber. He cried out and then fell to the floor, dead. Ingrid looked at Ezra. "I said, run!" She repeated.

Ezra didn't have time to think. He stood up and ran past Ingrid and the Inquisitor and down the twisting hallways of the Imperial star destroyer. Meanwhile, the Inquisitor was towering over Ingrid, he was not too happy.

"How dare you." He snarled. He used the Force and took his lightsaber back. He threw Ingrid against the wall and held the saber to her neck. "If you think that you've saved your friend, then you are terribly mistaken. I will find him, and when I do, I will make you watch as I cut through him. You will watch as he chokes on his own blood. And it will be your fault."

Meanwhile, Ezra had turned around to see if Ingrid was behind him only to realize that she wasn't!

"Wait, but she was..." He said. "Blast!" She had sacrificed herself for his escape! Ezra sighed and leaned against the wall. He ran a hand through his hair. "What am I going to do?"

Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming down the hall. He reached instinctively for his lightsaber, only to remember that he didn't have his lightsaber. The stormtrooper that was guarding him did!

He cursed under his breath and pressed himself against the wall, hoping not to be found by the Imperial troopers.

The troopers rounded the corner, but hadn't spotted him yet. They were about to round the next corner, but of course, Ezra let out a sigh of relief, which was louder than he expected it to be. The troopers turned around and saw him. For a moment, they all started blankly at each other.

"Uh... hi, guys..." Ezra said as he slowly started to back away.

"Blast him!" On trooper yelled. They began to fire at Ezra.

The rebel turned and began to run down the hallways, hoping to maybe find his was back to Ingrid and the Inquisitor. He shouldn't have just left her there!

Ezra needed a weapon. He turned around and used the Force to throw all three stormtroopers against the wall, rendering them all unconscious. He walked over and grabbed one of their blasters. "Sorry I can't stick around, but I've got somewhere to be." Ezra said to the unconscious men.

He turned and started to walk down the halls again. He held the blaster up, just in case any more troopers decided to come this way. Ezra looked around the corner and saw one trooper. He was by himself and had a blaster. Why he wasn't with his patrol was beyond Ezra, all he knew was that he needed to get around him. Either that or blast him.

Ezra began to make his way around the trooper, hoping that he wouldn't spot the young Padawan. Unfortunately, Ezra wasn't as quiet as he had intended to be. The trooper turned around. Ezra held up his blaster and began to shoot.

The trooper dodged his blasts and started to run towards him. Ezra turned around and started to run down the hallway. He could have sworn he heard the trooper yell his name, but Ezra ignored this and continued running.

And then the trooper tackled him. "Get off!" Ezra exclaimed. He tried to kick the trooper off of himself.

"Ezra! Calm down!" The trooper said. Ezra immediately stopped struggling when the trooper said his name. "Calm down, kid, it's me." The trooper sat up and took off his helmet.

"Kanan!" Ezra said happily. Kanan pulled his Padawan into a hug. "Boy, am I glad to see you." Ezra sighed.

"Yeah, I know what you mean." Kanan replied. The two stood up. Kanan looked around. "Where's Ingrid?"

Ezra shook his head. "She's with the Inquisitor. She used herself as a distraction so that I could escape. I thought she was behind me, but..."

Kanan set his hand on Ezra's shoulder. "It's not your fault, Ezra. Come on, let's go get her back."

"Right." Ezra nodded determinedly. He turned to start leading the way, but Kanan stopped him. "Huh?"

"One thing," Kanan said. He had a worried expression on his face. "Did the Inquisitor hurt you? Are you alright?"

Ezra looked down, he remembered what the Inquisitor did to him. What he did to Ingrid right in front of him. He took a deep breath. "Yeah, I'm fine, Kanan. Don't worry about me."

Kanan looked at his Padawan. Ezra had become strong. He was proud of him. "Alright, I'm glad. Now, let's go get Ingrid."

"One thing," it was Ezra's turn to stop Kanan. The Jedi turned and looked at Ezra.

"Yeah?"

"Where's everybody else?" Ezra asked.

Kanan smiled a little bit. "They're back on the Ghost."

"They didn't come with you?" Ezra asked. Kanan shook his head.

"I didn't want to risk their capture, too." He replied. "But enough talking, we need to go get Ingrid. The Inquisitor is going to try to turn her to the Dark Side."

"He already tried that," Ezra said. "It didn't work."

"That only means that he'll try again." Kanan replied. "And he won't be as gentle this time around..."

[Ew. Short chapter. Sorry about that. But, hey, I think it was quite good, don't you?
