Maya sat at the lunch table alone as she waited for her friends to finish buying lunch when Missy walked up to her.
"You're gonna eat that?"
"What?"
"It's a total waste of food. Someone as worthless as you should give their food up. Besides, I think it will do your body a favor."
"Shut up, Missy." She said, standing up
"You know I'm right. I mean you must see it when you look in the mirror."
"I don't care if you're right. I'm not gonna let you say it to me."
"Well, if you want to lose weight, you shouldn't eat your lunch. You'll look so greedy if you do. I mean can't you feel the eyes on you?"
"Whatever Missy." She sat back down.
"What was that about?" Asked Farkle as they all sat down.
"What?"
"I saw Missy talking to you."
"Oh, uh nothing. What do you think the new art project will be?"
"You're trying to change the subject." Said Riley.
"No, I was just wondering."
"What did she say?"
"She just told me about her new seat." The group exchanged glances but the conversation changed. Maya spun the apple by holding it by the stalk or would be carving into the styrofoam plate with her fork until the bell rang.
