"We're getting married."
"What!" Said Maya, standing up.
"If I were you, I would sit back down, Maya."
"No, I refuse to." He stood up and punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground and the nightly routine continued but instead of the man getting rid of his anger, hurting her only made him want to hurt her more so he did. Katy closed her eyes and cried, hearing her child's cry's. Her yelling her name, asking for help and just shouting 'ow.' She could here the mans foot making impact with her body. She only sat, unable to do anything for her child without risking death for them both. When he finally finished and left, she sat down next to her child, falling unconscious.
"Run baby." She whispered. "You're not safe here."
"But you?" Said Maya lightly.
"I will never forgive you if you don't run. It's time to leave.
Lay down your head and I'll sing you a lullaby
Back to the years of loo-li lai-lay

Maya didn't here the rest before falling unconscious.
