Serena's P.O.V.

I laid in bed looking up at the ceiling waiting for my alarm clock to go off. It was the middle of April and graduation was around the corner. Ezra and Cristiano would be coming here soon for graduation. I got up to get dressed and decided I would talk to Kaiser today. I hadn't avoided him, I just had not really talked to him since I was here. Kaiser was a friend and I didn't want to leave on a negative note. I quickly got dressed then headed outside to the Tahoe. I drove to the hotel and immediately went to the back to find Kaiser. As I entered the office I bumped into Donovan. I blushed as he picked up my phone for me and handed it back to me. "We should do lunch again before you leave to Italy. Wouldn't want to see you locked in your tower forever." He walked past me winking as he walked towards the doors of the hotel. I shook my head and walked into Kaisers office. I knocked on the wall which broke him from his trance. "Oh hey Serena, what can I do for you?" I looked at Kaiser, I mean really looked at him. "I was wondering if you wanted to grab lunch today. I miss talking to you," he smirked at me. "Of course we can, just finish your work for today and we'll go. I don't plan on having you here all day again." I frowned, "I wanted to spend as much time as I could with you before Ezra got here." Kaiser smirked, "that's fine with me. I'll see you around 12:30," I nodded walking back into my office to start on the paper work that was on my desk. Lunch arrived and I jumped up from my desk. As I turned out of it I bumped into a chest. "Oof," I looked up to be met by Donovan's hazel eyes. He chuckled, "ha it's nice to see you again. Are you headed to lunch?" I nodded slowly, "yeah Kaiser is taking me out..." He moved out of my way, "don't leave the country without letting me actually take you to a nice place. See you soon," I watched him as I entered Kaisers office. "Let's go to lunch Kai, I'm starved." He smiled at me standing up and walking with me out of the hotel. We ended up going to the cafe Kaiser had taken me when I first got here. New York had been home for a long time but now it seemed like a far away place. "Are you going to eat your chicken sandwich?" Kaiser asked taking a sip from his dr. pepper. I smirked, "yeah sorry." We both ate the rest of our food before I spoke. "So.. I know I've been a shitty friend... but why didn't you tell me anything?" Kaiser sighed, "you know I was asked not to... we all were just supposed to let you transition into being around everyone then letting you know.. That's what your uncle and aunt told us to do." I nodded, "okay.. I guess I understand... do you know anything else?" Kaiser took another drink, "I just know things about the hotel and some about your family. I took over a few years ago when the previous man died." I sat back into the tall chair sighing.

A few days later...

Graduation was a few days away and I was excited to be done with school and interning. I sat in my desk waiting for a call from Ezra once he landed, he told me his time would be spent with me. I doubted it but still I was excited for him to be with me. As I was walking out of the office to go back to the house, my gaze met Donovan's. He smiled his pearly white teeth at me and started to walk my way. "Hello bella, are you going home for the day?" "Well yes I am, I'm finished for today. Are you going home as well?" He nodded, ". Actually I was wondering if you wanted to grab dinner, my treat?" I smiled at him, "sure. Just as long as you don't mind doing it now. I have some last minute things to turn in tonight." He stuck his arm out for me to loop mine through, "that's fine with me. I have to meet my sister later on." I smiled while we walked down the street together. As we arrived upon a pizzeria Donovan stopped. "Since this is going to be a quick dinner, let's stop here. This is the best pizza in New York." I laughed a bit nodding, "sure let's go." We ended up sitting in a booth and ordering beers to drink. Once we had got done eating most of the pizza Donovan looked at me. "Have you enjoyed New York so far?" I shrugged, "I lived here before I knew I had family... so it's basically my home. I just haven't been to a pizzeria while I lived here. This pizza is amazing though, I can't believe Rena and I never found this place." Donovan smiled, "I didn't realize that. Have you thought of anything else that you would like to ask me?" I leaned back into the booth a million questions popping into my head. Just one would suffice for now, "do you think that my uncle will let me go look at the agency in Italy?" Donovan leaned in a bit towards me, "if you really want to see one. I can take you to the agency that's here in the city." I was confused, I only knew of the club in Italy not one here. I nodded, "sure I would love to." He smiled leaning back, "how about tonight? I just have to get something from my sister and then I'll be there around 8?" I nodded, "that's fine. I'll see you then," I said as I got up walking out of the pizzeria and back into the New York spring air.

Later on that night...

I sat all the party dresses I had out on my bed trying to chose one that would conceal me from looking like myself. Tonight would be the last night that I actually got to go out. As I was doing my hair and makeup, I looked to my left to see Renata standing there. Her arms folded across her chest which told me she was concerned. "Where are you going tonight?" I bit my lip, "Donovan Torres wants to take me to the agency out here before Ezra and Cristiano come into town. Do you want to go with?" Rena smiled, "I don't see why not." After we both had gotten ready we snuck out of the house walking towards the bus stop. We were halfway there when Donovan hopped out of this black Mustang. "Hello ladies, let's head over there. I'm meeting a friend of mine," Rena and I hopped inside the car and drove off. It took about 30 minutes to get to the agency. All that stood out to me about the building was the name, 'Amoré'. The name flashed a bright pink and drew in the attention of anyone that would drive by. Donovan parked the car and we all walked inside together. Once we walked inside there were women walking around in high heels and tight cocktail dresses. I looked to my left to see a gorgeous blonde typing on her desktop. "Their waiting for you on the second floor, have a great night guys." As the three of us got into the elevator, Donovan pressed the number 2 button. When the doors opened the smell of weed flooded my nostrils. We walked down a hallway before reaching the end of the hallway with a glass door and a blind over it. Donovan opened the door to reveal three other men were sitting around a table smoking a blunt. "Your finally back Donovan, Ciro was just saying-" The youngest of these men made eye contact with me and stood up. He walked towards me staring, "who are those two D?" I looked back at him not looking away, "This is Serena Salvatore and Renata Russo. Their both home for school and Serena has been working at the hotel since March for clinical hours. Just thought I would show her around before the Stefanos get here." I looked at Donovan through eye slits, he knew more than he was telling me. The youngest chuckled, "you know Cristiano and Matteo would not be happy that she is here. Take them-" I cleared my throat, "I've been kept in the dark for so long. Do you think I even know who you are? I don't know any of you even though I feel like I should. It hurts me to not to be able to remember anything. So please, enlighten me to what I've been kept from. I'm all ears." I sat down beside one of the men as did Renata. The one named Ciro laughed, "what do you mean you've been kept in the dark? Didn't Matteo tell you everything? Maybe your cousins?" I shook my head, "they told me about the hotels and about my family being in the mafia. They've kept me busy with the hotel side of the business and Kaiser has been keeping me busy as well. I had to ask Donovan about the agencies and mafia aspect for myself." The men looked stunned, "well of course I'll tell you l'ultimo salvatore. I'm under oath to tell you anything you want to know." I learned the names of each one of the men sitting around me. Luciano Manfredi was the youngest out of everyone. He said his family ran the mafia in New York. Ciro Ricci is Luciano's second in command like Ezra is to Cristiano. Antonio Marino was the last and final man in the room. He was Luciano's families captain of the soldiers, like Durante. Donovan is Luciano's advisor and has been for a very long time. Luciano also said that he was ordered to protect us while we were here and that once we come back from Italy next time. It would be more of a family affair and I seriously hoped I would be able to remember everyone by then. I saw Donovan coming towards me as the alcohol took its toll on me. "Are you ready to go?" I nodded slowly seeing Renata passed out on Ciro's shoulder. "Yep, Renata wake up!" I yelled in her ear and she shot up. She stretched her arms and stood up. Donovan helped me to the car as Renata hopped into the drivers seat. Donovan got into the back with me. His cologne filled my nostrils and it made me want him, bad. He looked at me as I felt my face flush. He leaned down a bit to capture my lips. He kissed me gently placing a hand behind my head. As our kiss ended my body wanted to ravage Donovan here and now. I could see the lust filling his eyes. Suddenly the car stopped and I saw Renata rush inside, leaving the car keys in the ignition. Donovan got out helping me to the front door. As I stepped out of the car I tripped over the sidewalk. Naturally, Donovan caught me making look into his hazel eyes. I looked away standing up and straightening out my romper. He smiled coyly at me before clearing his throat, "I'll see you later bella but before I go... let me kiss you again." I nodded feeling his hands wrap around my waist as they pulled me to his body. His lips touched mine and it sent sparks between us. The kiss got hot and heavy within a few seconds. Donovan's hands were on my ass while my fingers were tangled in his hair. It might've been because I really hadn't been kissed or touched in a long time. Feeling wanted made me feel more in control. Donovan put his forehead against mine trying to catch his breath as well as I. His hands left my waist, the heat from him going away. "I'll see you soon bella." I nodded watching him drive away into the busy night.
