Amore' (New York Part II)

Serena's P.O.V.

Ezra had landed last night while I was sleeping in Rena's room. Rena and I had snuck in to make sure no one noticed we were gone. I slept for a few hours before I was woken up by the smell of coffee. I opened my eyes slowly, rolling over to see Ezra holding a mug of coffee. He smiled at me as I sat up, "morning bella. It's been awhile hasn't it?" I nodded acting coy taking the mug from him. "It has.. how have you been?" He took a sip from his mug, "good. I have some business to attend the next week. We're going back to Italy after your graduation." I was expecting him to say that, just not in that tone. "That's fine, I hope you have fun with your business. Just do not expect me to be cooped up in the apartment in Italy or here." He stood up nodding, "that's fine. Hope you have a good day at work." He kissed my forehead before exiting my room before he turned around. "And tonight, I expect to take you out. So be ready for a meeting with Cristiano and I." I stayed in bed, if Cris was here... Santino and Aurora would be too! I jumped out of bed grabbing my mug and walking downstairs. Aurora was sitting in the living room with Santino watching tv. "Auro!" I ran to her hugging her tightly. "Ooff! I've missed you too cugino! What are you doing today?" I yawned, "I have to go to the hotel today for a few hours. But nothing after until that date with Ezra tonight." Aurora looked at me confused, "did he say where?" I shook my head, I didn't want to tell her it was a meeting with Cristiano and Ezra. "Nope but I better get ready for work, I'll see you later." I went back upstairs to change into what I was wearing to work. As I opened the door to the garage Ezra was already sitting in one with the truck running. I hopped in the front seat and off we went. The ride was very quiet as I was trying to keep my composure from hearing everything from Luciano last night. When we got to the hotel Ezra dropped me off directly at the door. I hopped out turning around to hear what he had to say. "Kaiser is going to take you back to the house once your done here. I'll be back around 8, see you then." He smiled at me as I walked inside, making my heart beat fast. I calmed myself down and went inside the hotel to talk to Kaiser. I had a feeling he knew that Cristiano is coming into town. As I made my way through the foyer. I went towards my office back behind the front desk. I had almost reached the door to my office when I saw Donovan was standing at Kaiser's desk talking to him. I tried to quietly walk past them but Kaiser noticed me. "Hey Sere! Come here, we all have a luncheon with Cristiano and Santino later." I walked over trying to keep my heart bursting about Donovan. "I was going to ask you if you knew why Cristiano is coming into town." Kaiser looked at me like I was confused, "you don't know?" I shook my head, "Cristiano and Ezra.... want you to meet one of the other families that run the agency out here. That's most likely where their taking you tonight." My heart dropped into my chest, until Donovan looked back at me. As lunch rolled around I got more and more nervous. I didn't want Cristiano to find out I had already met with some of the other family members last night. I took a deep breath, "just come get me when it is time to meet them." I went straight into my office closing the door. I sighed and started looking through my emails to reply to the other chairmen. I watched the time tick by, 11:30. As I shut off my computer a knock was on my door. "Come in," I said as I stood up leaving my purse in my desk. As I looked up I was met with Donovan's striking eyes. I cleared my throat sitting back down, "Oh its you, I thought you were Kaiser." Donovan shut the door behind him sitting down in the chair in front of my desk. "I just wanted to talk to you before we meet Cristiano." I sat back into my chair, "go on." Donovan nodded, "I'll tell Cristiano that I took you and Renata to amore' last night. You don't have to tell him while your here." I nodded, "thank you.." my door opened again Kaiser standing there. "Are you ready Sere?" I got up smiling at him, "alright let's get this over with." I walked behind Kaiser into the meeting room Donovan following behind. Cristiano, Delia and Valerius were sitting at the table. I sat down across from them, "hello cugino it's been awhile. How is everything?" I smiled at him, "everything is going good. Is everything in Italy okay?" He nodded leaning back into the rolling chair, "Sí, Mother misses you very much. She's ready for you to come home and she's sorry that her and father aren't able to make it. She told Delia to take lots of pictures." I chuckled a bit, "tell her I miss her too Cris. I'm sure I'll be taking enough pictures honestly." Delia got out her notepad and a pen, "now lets get to business. Father wants to know how Serena has been doing Kaiser." Kaiser went on with how good I was dealing with everything. Kaiser told Cristiano that I had taken my position seriously and helped whenever I could. After the meeting I was walking back into my office before Cristiano stopped me. "Can we talk for a moment?" I nodded, it wasn't like I could tell him no. He wasn't intimidating but he was my cousin and I wasn't trying to get on his bad side. I closed the door behind him, "go ahead sit down." He smirked before he spoke, "I know that you've been kept in the dark about a lot going on around you. I wanted you to know that you can ask me anything you want and that tonight you'll be meeting another family that's involved with ties to father. Ezra will be picking you up tonight, be on your best behavior." Cristiano got up walking out of my office, I released a breath letting the nerves get out of me.
