Serena's P.O.V.
We all landed in Milan without a scratch and Renata seemed to have healed completely. I was still curious as to why the group of men broke into the apartment but I decided I would just wait to ask until I had a few moments alone with Renata. Aurora and Santino stuck around for a bit before they left for the meeting with Matteo too. Rena and I were currently sitting in her room watching some Halloween movies while munching on Carmel corn. I leaned into Renata's shoulder, "what's up? You've been acting down since I got shot." I looked her hard, "I mean who wouldn't? My best friend got shot by some people we don't even know." Rena patted my shoulder, "I'm fine now Serena, don't take it hard." I shook my head, "I just can't wrap my head around someone shooting you or even why they did." Renata shook her head, "you will know soon bestfriend I promise. But for now let's try and enjoy our vacation. I'm ready for a major break." I nodded taking in Renata's words. Soon the boys were back and Matteo followed behind them with Aurora and Cristiano. "Let's have lunch before I go back home to my wife. I know that you all are safe here than in America." Ezra smiled at me as he entered the gigantic kitchen with a beautiful wooden table that stretched to both walls. The table was already set by the maids that were in the back of the kitchen. "Majority of the time the safe houses don't have maids but I thought I would show you both the perks of having money. Down to business though, my sweet niece. Do you remember anything from when you were little? Anything about your family?" I shook my head playing with the plate of spaghetti sitting in front of me. "No sadly I don't... it's like a block is on my mind so I can't remember most things. I only remembered your names because your eyes are like mine. Other than that I felt like this is the first time I've met everyone, other than Renata of course." Matteo nodded, "well your father and his parents owned a hotel chain in Italy and it grew into the states. Your mothers and I family owned a few hotel chains in Europe and Mexico. We've expanded a lot since then but they both made you their heir." I looked at the table, me an heirress? "You haven't seen any money since your mother took off with you after your father's parents died. She couldn't take it being around the death that lingered in the mansion." I nodded, "I remember mom saying something like that when I was younger. But being that little I never thought of mom having any type of money. We weren't the kind to just spend it to spend it." Matteo nodded again, "my sister was always like that. She didn't like to be flashy and shove it into others faces. That's why everyone loved her... I miss her a lot but I'm happy I've been blessed with your presence." I felt the tears falling from my eyes before I even could stop them. "But getting into why we have money is because after your mother died the hotels went to my family and I. Cristiano has been helping me take care of the business meetings and everything else while Aurora went to become a doctor. Letting her pursue her dream, since your here now too we've become one happy familia once again we're whole." I wiped the tears away before Aurora, Cristiano, and Matteo brought me into a group hug. They all hugged me tightly, making sure I was really there. I was happy that I finally had a family that wanted me to be apart of what they are. Matteo went back to his chair fixing his blazer. Along with Aurora and Cristiano, "now that your here you'll be able to take over the hotel chain sooner hopefully rather than later. Cristiano will be head of the hotel chains so that you can work closely with him and learn everything he has learned. If you'll excuse me I have a car ride to catch. See you in Florence in a week nipote." Matteo said as he waved his hand behind him. Delia followed waving back at all of us before she returned to his side. The room was silent before Cristiano spoke, "well seems like we'll be in close quarters from now on cugino, I'm excited to see whose traits come out of you." I smiled back at Cristiano, "I'm excited to see what kind of teacher you'll be." He nodded smirking eating his food. After lunch the boys had to have a meeting for the hotels. I sat in the living room with Renata watching movies for the remainder of the day. It was close to Christmas and even though we weren't in the cold anymore, it was still December. After about 12 I had finally passed out beside Rena. I had hoped that these meetings weren't going to consume the time I wanted to spend with Ezra.
