I paused in the doorway and sighed. I slowly walked to the teacher's desk with my head down. Elise followed me.
"Elise, Elise, Elise, passing notes again, huh?" Mrs. Wilson began. "You two have learned since grade school to not do it, but yet, you do. And I can't believe that you would make the new girl follow in your footsteps." The teacher shook her head with disgust. "What do you girls have to say for yourselves?"
"I'm sorry," I said, looking at the floor.
"Elise?" Mrs. Wilson stared at her.
She stood there for a couple of seconds. She sighed. "Sorry," she said, rolling her eyes.
"For your punishment, Elise, you will have detention for the next three days, including today. And Brittany..." Mrs. Wilson paused to think. "For now, you're let off the hook, but next time, you will have the punishment that Elise has. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Mrs. Wilson," I said.
"Alright. You may go now," She said. Elise and I quickly went out the door.
"Thanks, Elise," I said. "Now the teacher thinks I'm a troublemaker!" I walked ahead of her, eager to get to my next class.
"I'm sorry!" Elise called, trying to catch up with me. "Wait up!" I sighed and paused, waiting for her. "Look, I didn't mean to get you in trouble," she said to me.
"I know," I said. "Whatever, just don't do it again. Imagine what Austin thinks about me now!"
"Oh, come on, it's fine. I've seen him pass notes before," Elise said.
"Let's get to art class before the bell rings," I say, picking up speed.

"What is that, a big rock?" Chelsea said, laughing at Emily. Emily is the second most popular girl in school, but she's sometimes shy, and she's really nice. She's also a great drawer and singer. Emily and Chelsea are friends, since they're both popular, but I guess Chelsea even bullies HER.
"Actually, it's a dolphin. I haven't drawn the eyes or the fins yet, but this is the body," Emily stated.
Chelsea raised her eyebrows. "Sure doesn't look like it," she said and continued laughing.
"That's amazing, how do you draw that?" I whispered to Emily. She shrugged and smiled. "Why is Chelsea being so mean to you?" I asked her.
"Oh, I don't know. It doesn't really matter though, I'm used to it." she whispered back.
"Oh," I said. If I were her, I wouldn't be able to stand someone like Chelsea.
