"I baked chocolate chip cookies!" Brittany's mother said with excitement.
Oooh.....that sounds SO good.
"My mom never bakes cookies....unless theres something AMAZING that's going to happen," Brittany whispered in my ear.
I walked over and took three cookies.
"I assume you like chocolate?" Brittany said with a laugh.
"Like it? More like IN LOVE with it!" I said and ate the first cookie.
"Mom, why'd you bake cookies? What's going on?" Brittany asked.
"You'll see," her mother said with a smile.
I heard the garage open. Brittany looked at her mom. Her mom smiled bigger.
The garage door opened and a tall girl with the same kind of hair as Brittany walked in. She and Brittany kind of look like.......sisters.
"Kelly!!!" Brittany screamed. She ran over and gave her a big hug. The two stood there for a couple of minutes talking while I finished the rest of my cookies. When I was finished, I walked over next to Brittany.
"Oh! I almost forgot to introduce you guys! Kelly, this is my friend Emily. Emily, this is my older sister Kelly. She just came to visit from college. She's staying here for a couple of days!" Brittany said with excitement. She looked so happy. I smiled. I KNEW they were sisters.
"Nice to meet you," I said. We shook hands. "You too," Kelly said. "Well, I'm going to go unpack upstairs in the guest room. See ya guys," she said and rolled her suitcase up the stairs.
"I missed my sister so much," Brittany said as we sat on the couch.
"Yeah," I said. "I wish I had a sibling."
"What? You don't have a brother OR a sister?"
"No. But I do have a puppy. Her name is Candy."
"Aww! Cool! We're going to get a dog this weekend!"
"Really? Maybe they can play together!"
"Yeah!" Brittany said. I could tell that she was really excited about getting a dog.
"Where's your dad? Is he out grocery shopping?" I wondered. Usually my dad is there when I get home.
"Oh, umm....." Brittany scratched her neck. "....he died in a car accident back in Michigan."
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry...." I said.
"It's fine," Brittany said.
"Hey, so does Elise like me?" I said. I tried to be nice, but it seemed like she didn't like me that much.
"I don't know. She doesn't really like the populars that much, just let her get to know you better," Brittany said, patting my back.

I saw Austin in the hallway today, and he was staring at Brittany. That either means he LIKES her, or he doesn't. At all. I hope he does, because I know Brittany has a crush on him. But he's dating Chelsea. I don't know, it's all so confusing.
