Grace's pov.

I watch him take out something from his pocket.

 It's a small piece of a paper.

If Luke thinks that he can send his brother to give me some meaningless letter he's really fucking wrong.

 Jai hands me the letter.

"He wrote this awhile ago. And then threw it away. So I took care of it and..yeah, I thought if I'd ever get the chance to send this to you.. you know."

I put the letter in my purse, turn around and walks away.

 Fuck off.

"Who was that mummy?" Evelyn ask curiously.

Oh no. I hate lying to my own daughter but it's totally for the best.

"Just a friend, sweetie" I smile.

Yeah right just a friend.

I put Eve down and take her small hand in mine.

About 20 minutes later were standing infront of a small white house. Our home.

Eve kick her shoes of really fast and runs upstairs to her room.

A few minutes later she comes down with some of her toys and starts playing with them in front if the television.

 "Put it on mummy"

I look at her with the you've-forgot-something- look.

"Please" She drags out the e's, alwaya working.

"That's my girl" I say and put on some cartoon.

I take the letter I got from Jai out of my purse.

 Dear Grace.

I know what I did, was horrible. I left you, when you needed me the most. A nightmare, to raise a child by your own at the age of 16.

I stop reading. Oh please, tell me something I don't know.

The whole letter is joke. It just contains a lot of sorry's and how much he regret his decision.

I pick up my phone and call Phoebe, my best friend.

"Hey girl how are you" Phoebe's happy voice's saying.

"You need to come over. I gotta talk to you, it's important."

"Yeah k, I'll be there in 5"

"Love you" I say and get off the phone.

I don't think I would have done it without Phoebe. I mean raise Evelyn. She were always here when I needed her. She motivated me to keep going when life's was the hardest. I love her so much.

 "Are you hungry, Eve?"

"Uh-hu" She says not letting her eyes of the tv.

 "Okay, dinner soon babay"

She answers with one more mumble.

I fill a boil with water and put it on the stove.

A few minutes later opens the door and Phoebe comes in.

She's like my sister so we don't care about knocking and stuff.

"Hey babe" Her green eyes' are sparkling as always.

"Hey dinner's ready in 15 minutes if you're hungry"

"Yes omg I'm starving" She chuckles.

"Hello there cupcake" She say to Eve who's still looking at the television.

She looks up and smiles. I love their strong relationship, She's like a second mother for her.

She runs towards Phoebe, giving her a hug.

 "Phoebe!" She giggles.

Evelyn's telling her about her day so far.

"Well that's fantastic" Phoebe says before Eve run back to the TV.

"So uhm, what's the reason you called me?" Phoebe looks at me with anxiety in her eyes.

I take a deep breath before I open my mouth.

"Jai. I met him in the park today." I takes her a few seconds to realize who I'm talking about.

"What?!  Like, Luke's Jai?"

I nod. Feeling how the tears starting to fill my eyes. again.

 Stop being emotional Grace.

"Babe it's okay, ok?"

"No it's not, he gave me this letter.." I wipe away a few tears from my cheek.

"And.. he wrote so many times that he is so sorry and if he could turn back time he would've stayed.. because...

 "...because?"

 I sigh.

"Because he want to be a part of Evelyn's life."
