Chapter Fourteen-Family
“Zayn’s parents.”
My eyes snapped open and looked over at the couple standing in the dark room, shapes illuminated by the lit hallway.
Faintly, I could make out their faces- but in this light, I couldn’t tell.
“Parents?” I repeated. When Zayn had retold his story when he was… taken, I guess, I asked if he remembered his parents’ names. It took him a moment, but he did. Tricia and Yaser Malik.
“Are you Louis Tomlinson?” The woman- the possible Tricia Malik. I nodded, watching with a slight wary look. “The doctor told us that you’ve had… ownership… of my baby boy?”
“Is your name Tricia?” I questioned as a reply. I could just make out the nod of her head. “Then, yes, I have. May we talk in private?” I asked, throwing a pointed look towards Liam, Harry and Niall. Liam nodded and ushered the other two out, closing the door behind him.
“Zayn told me how he was taken from you at age five. Later on he told me that the man who had so forcefully taken him was a Mr. Tomlinson, my grandfather. Now, I will tell you that he has long since been dead, and I had no knowledge of this fact until he told me.”
“Then how did he end up with you?” Yaser- I believe- questioned, brows furrowed- Liam had flicked on the light on his way out.
“I hate to see anyone, even with animal parts, suffer. So I take hybrids, nurse them back to health, and give them to a family that I know will treat them right.”
“What about Zayn?”
“Honestly? After how much we’ve been through with him, I don’t think I could’ve actually given him up to anyone. Had he wanted to leave on his own will- and he still might- I would’ve let him, as much as it would’ve hurt everyone he’s been around these past few months.”
Tricia only nodded, her eyes trained on Zayn. He was breathing on his own- thankfully- but his arm was wrapped in a cast, his ear and tail wrapped as well and I’ve seen the bandages on his stomach.
“Would you keep him from his parents?”
“Who could do that to someone they love? Especially when he speaks so highly of you. His few memories are ones he cherishes and I would not want to be one to keep him from making more.” I replied, sighing and looking down at Zayn. A hand was placed on my shoulder and I glanced up into Tricia’s warm eyes.
“Do you love him?” I was almost taken aback, but I’ve experienced enough on the phone with Harry’s mother to know about a mother’s intuition.
“I do.” I answered quickly, looking back down at Zayn before looking back up at her. She smiled and hugged me tightly. Slightly surprised, I hugged her back.
“We’ll come back in the morning. Keep a good eye on him.”
“If there’s any change, I’ll have a nurse alert you immediately.” I told her, watching as she nodded and walked out the room, her husband following, sending me one last smile before flicking the light off and closing the door behind her.
I waited until I heard their footsteps- extra ones following, most likely the boys’- disappear down the hall before looking down at Zayn, pressing a kiss to his temple, sitting back down and lightly singing under my breath.
“For you, for you, baby, I’m not moving on, I’ll love you long after you’re gone
Like a drum, baby, don’t stop beating
Like a drum, baby, don’t stop beating
Like a drum, baby, don’t stop beating
Like a drum my heart never stops beating for you
I’ll love you long after you’re gone, gone, gone.”

I was gonna end it here, then I realized it was only two pages on Word… and still didn’t care. Soz, Fifteen’ll be longer. I think; I hope… when I write, length doesn’t really come to me. Ending a chapter is sometimes easy, sometimes hard, so I keep writing. Like, on Run, Chapter One might be like ten pages or something, just warning you. IT’S REALLY LONG.
Oh! I’m finished with guitar camp(It’s Friday night right now when I’m writing this) and we had a performance at six and I DID REALLY GOOD! My parents and my guitar teacher also kind of set me up with this girl for a two-man guitar band- and then the other girl’s mother suggested we play stuff like Metallica and Eagles and stuff like that, and we’re both like:
CAN WE PLAY SOMETHING THAT’S IN THIS CENTURY AND DOESN’T REQUIRE ELECTRIC GUITARS- WHICH NEITHER OF US HAVE; WE PLAY ACOUSTICS, PEOPLE! DO THESE LOOK LIKE THEY CAN HOOK UP TO AN AMP?
Just more toned down.
Anyway, we kinda agreed to it and I want to play Gone, Gone, Gone by Phillip Phillips. That’s the song up above, too.
Either way, the girl’s name is Courtney and she’s really cool so I kinda want to see how this goes.
MAYBE WE’LL BE THE DOUBLE TAYLOR SWIFTS! Only, I’m not blonde- neither is she, she just dyes it. I dye a front lock of my hair blue… sometimes. I think I need to re-blue it; I liked having different colored hair.
Anywho,
HAVE NICE DAY
HAVE NICE SUMMER
HAVE NICE LIFE
