Chapter Fifteen- Good Morning
It had been about a week since the accident and meeting Zayn’s parents. I had gotten to know both better, and honestly, they were like my parents- only still together and Tricia clearly accepted her son was a hybrid.
“Morning, Louis.” Liam greeted me. I simply nodded at him, taking the Starbucks coffee he’d gotten me- I’d barely left Zayn’s bedside all this week, only going home when forced to shower and get a change of clothes and food before we left for the hospital again.
“H-hello?” A small, hesitant voice greeted from the doorway. I whipped my head around to find a little girl that looked so remarkably like Zayn I thought she was his twin that had been frozen for some time and released back into the world at age five while her other twin was twenty.
After dismissing that thought, I returned her hello with a less hesitant hi and a sweetie following it.
“Hi, sweetie, are you looking for somebody?” She nodded.
“Muma said that I have a big brother named Zayn and that I need to find Mr. Louis to find Zayn.” She told us, familiar, innocent, big brown puppy dog eyes that rivaled both Zayn and Liam’s staring up at us.
“Well, you’ve found Mr. Louis, next is to find Zayn!” Liam replied quickly, covering for my surprise.
“Are you Mr. Louis?” She asked, looking at me. I nodded and she darted forward, jumping into my lap and throwing her small arms around my waist, squeezing as tight as she could.
“Thank you for saving my big brother.” She whispered in my ear, after she moved her arms to my neck.
“It was no problem.” I whispered back, hugging her just as tight as she was, in her standards.
“I’ve never seen my big brother before. Sissy has, but she said he had to go somewhere a long time ago and she’s only getting to see him now.” She said, sitting in my lap and staring up at Liam and I.
“Safaa! Where are you?” Another girl’s voice sounded from the hallway and the little girl in my lap slid off and ran out the door, soon reappearing with two older girls, one that seemed to be my age, maybe a few years older, and one that looked- age wise- closer to the little girl.
“Safaa, you know you can’t run off like that!” The older girl was trying to scold, while- Safaa, I guess- simply waited until she took a breath to talk.
“I found Mr. Louis!” She exclaimed excitedly, pointing at me. The older girl looked at me and smiled tiredly.
“Hi, I’m Doniya, Zayn’s older sister. This is Waliyha and you’ve obviously already met Safaa.”
“Nice to meet you.” I replied, giving her a friendly smile. She smiled back as Tricia and Yaser appeared in the doorway, looking relieved to find all three girls safe and sound.
Zayn still slept peacefully, even with Safaa occasionally poking his cheek, telling him to “Get up, I wanna meet my older brother”. Tricia eventually told her to stop, even as cute as it was we didn’t want to risk anything.
After the initial introductions I learned how much of the story the girls knew and they also learned about me. Doniya was happy but she nearly thwacked me on the back of my head when she learned we hadn’t kissed yet.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” She’d asked, glaring. Tricia, Yaser and Liam had taken Waliyha and Safaa out to get food while Doniya and I stayed behind. “You obviously love him and from what I’ve heard he loves you too so what is the hold up?”
