~SKIPPING TO THURSDAY~
"Come meet the lacrosse players, Allison, Mackenzie!" Lydia called us over as we exited the French classroom together.
"I know most of them already, Lyds!" I said walking over there with Allison by my side.
"How?" Lydia asked twirling a strand of her hair between her fingers.
"Maybe it's because I'm the coach's daughter," I wondered aloud sarcastically.
"Or it's because she had to learn our names so she could insult after she kicked our asses on Saturday!" A player named Taylor replied playfully.
"You play lacrosse!" Lydia glared at me. I nodded in response.
"I'll talk to you about that later." Lydia dismissed me with a wave of the hand.
"So guys have you gotten to know our friend Allison?" She asked as Allison weakly held out a hand flashing a shy smile.
"We'll see you guys later, okay?" Lydia smiled flipping her hair behind her shoulder as she turned around with a small laugh.
"Okay, now to deal with you Mackenzie. What do you think you're doing playing lacrosse?" She spat at me with a fake smile.
"I impressed most of the guys, I don't see what the big deal is here?" I asked innocently.
"If you want to sit with me at lunch, you stop with the lacrosse. Understand?" Lydia asked with that bitchy laugh of hers.
"Uh, no I actually don't understand!" I shouted quietly back at her. "Lacrosse is part of my life Lydia."
"It's going to ruin my reputation, bye Mackenzie. You better think about what I said," she twirled around plastering that smile back on her face. I stared back at her blankly, I make a new friend, but lose her just like that. I wipe away a tear taking in a deep breath, there's plenty of other people I can hang out with. I put my books into my locker and find my way to the cafeteria.
I look around for empty seats, there was a few empty tables, but I scanned around farther until I spot two familiar faces, Scott and Stiles. I take in a deep breath before strutting over there.
"Uhm, is this seat free?" I ask shyly gesturing to a seat across from the two friends. They look at each other before nodding.
"Don't you usually sit with Lydia?" Stiles asked while his fingers tapped on the side of his tray.
"Yeah," I sighed slouching in my seat.
"No offense, but then why are you here then?" Scott asked leaning in.
"Apparently I'm ruining Lydia's reputation by doing what I love." I murmured chipping off my nail polish.
"Wait, what?" Stiles asked shifting his weight as he leaned in interested in the topic.
"She says if I'm going to sit with her I have to quit lacrosse, but there is no way I'm doing that to my dad. I just can't believe I make a friend and then I lose her just as fast." I explain glancing up at the end.
"Well you're welcome here, she's being rude." Scott told me with his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Hey! She might be being a little mean, but not rude!" Stiles interjected. I shot him a glare and he rolled his eyes.
"So... Stiles here tells me your a pretty good little gamer here. True or false?" Scott asks changing the subject, my eyes widen as do Stiles.
"Dude! Shut up!" Stiles slaps his friends shoulder.
