Do I Wanna Know? - Arctic Monkeys

"Attention, students, this is your principal speaking. I know you're all wondering about the incident that occurred last night to one of our buses. While the police work to determine what happened, classes will proceed as scheduled."

I sighed, I knew we'd still have classes, but I was hoping for a delay of some sort. Even an assembly, anything to get out of doing work. Maybe I'll be able to convince Mrs. Williams to let us play hangman in English today, I thought up as I searched through my locker for my Chemistry text book. The bell started to ring making me roll my eyes. I took a seat in Harris's class and instantly thought about how great it would've been if we had a morning assembly and could miss first period. Harris handed out a worksheet on the relativity of matter. I rolled my eyes and Harris scolded me for my "attitude" issues. A few minutes later Scott and Stiles were talking and Harris spoke up.

"Mr. Stilinski, if that's your idea of a hushed whisper, you might want to pull out the headphones once in a while. I think you and Mr. McCall would benefit from a little distance, yes?" Harris crossed his arms.

"No." Stiles complained as Harris raised his eyebrows and pointed to a seat in the front for Scott and the spot next to me for Stiles.

"Let me know if the separation anxiety gets to be too much." Harris grinned as he walked back to his desk.

Stiles smacked his books down next to me, but was pleasantly surprised to see it was someone he knew next to him. He gave me a nod before taking a seat on his stool.

"So what's all this talk about raw rabbit?" I whispered.

His head whipped up with wide eyes.

"Relax, I'm not going to tell anyone you're not a vegetarian. I'm not a vegetarian myself, I mean sure eating rabbit is a bit extreme, but I won't judge." I shrugged, smiling to him. I was a bit curious to know what him and Scott were talking about, but I didn't like to pry.

"Heh, heh, yeahhh..." He chuckled before a girl shot out of her seat.

"Hey! I think they found something." She ran to the window, everyone else following her lead.

"That's not a rabbit," Scott mumbled to Stiles. I was a bit of an eavesdropper so I overheard it. I could tell they had something to do with the incident and I wanted to find out, being the curious, little, coach's daughter. I was a little upset that they are keeping a secret from me, but I did realize that they were far closer than I would ever be to either of them. Suddenly the body shot up and screamed. I gasped before leaning closer to the window to get a better look. The bell rang and everyone ran back to their desks to pack up.

"Read chapter fourteen for homework tonight!" Harris announced as people started filing out of his class. Once I got out of his room I was running to catch up with Scott and Stiles.

"I can't go out with Allison." Scott exasperated to Stiles just as I had caught up to them.

"Whoa, why not?" I asked him. "You know that you won't get another chance like this again?"

"Thanks a lot for that!" Scott shoved my arm off his shoulder while Stiles and I chuckled.

"But seriously Scott, you can't just cancel you're entire life." Stiles told him as we headed towards our lunch table.

"What's all this about anyway, is he just nervous?" I asked. He obviously had a crush on Allison and she was down. What was stopping him?

"I'm not nervous!" Scott defended.

"He's nervous." Stiles nodded.

"Nervous about what?" My smile wiped off my face the minute I looked up. Her fake interest lingering in the question.

"It's nothing." Scott waved it off before looking back at us with wide eyes.

"Why is she sitting with us?" Stiles mouthed. Scott shook his head and I shrugged my shoulders as many more of her friends and Allison came and sat down next to Scott.

Jackson came over before shouting get up at this sweaty guy from the lacrosse team.

"You know, I was actually just about to leave." I told Jackson as I stood up, Stiles was tugging my shirt, a signal that meant "get back in your seat or else I'm going to be all alone and I'll have to kick your ass."

"No, Mackenzie. I think you should stay." Jackson said as he waved the other guy away. This earned a quick look from Lydia. Jackson ignored it.

"No really" I bit my lip pointing my thumb behind me. "I was just about to leave, I swear."

"Mac, don't leave!" Stiles whisper-yelled. I moved my chair out of my way with my foot and gave Stiles a pat on the back although my gut was telling me to take a much bolder move and kiss him on top of the head. Which is super gay, so why would I do that. Mac, get your head in the game.

"Mackenzie, stay." Jackson gestured towards my seat. I don't know what's gotten into him. I might've been taking it the wrong way, but was he flirting with me?

"Sorry, I don't take orders from the 'captain'." I winked at him before turning on my heel. I scanned the cafeteria before spotting a boy who was sitting alone.

"Is this seat taken?" I asked him. His eyes widened when he noticed someone was talking to him. He shook his head. I pulled the seat out and sat down across from him.

"Sorry to intrude," I apologized. "My name's Mac."

"Aren't you that girl who practiced lacrosse with us that one time?" He asked. I smiled and nodded. "That's cool. You're really good."

"Aw, thank you." I smiled at him and took a bite out of my apple. I was happy that I sat down at this table because this guy seemed really sweet.

"My name's Isaac by the way."
