TRIS' POV
I sigh when I see myself in the mirror: my eyes are still red from last night. It is saturday and I am supposed to go shopping with the girls, but I don't really feel like it. I walk downstairs to make myself breakfast -a healthy one- and make my way to my bed again.
TIME LAPSE TO MONDAY
So my weekend has been pretty relaxing. I decided to turn off my phone, trying to stay out of all social network for once. During the whole weekend my days were resumed by sleeping, eating my meals, watching movies and thinking. Yeah I did a lot of that.
Since forgiving is very important to me, I decide that Lauren deserves a second chance. She was just jealous because I was spending time with her boyfriend and I completly understand that. Four only wanted to be nice by helping me and I screwed all of this by wanting to be friends. At least that's what I like to think.
Enough thinking, it is time to get ready for school. I decide to wear simple things today, nothing to catch attention. For makeup, I only put concealer to hide my undereye circles. In my way to my car I grab an apple and say goodbye to my parents.
I decide to turn on my phone to see what I have been missing. I have 23 missed calls. A lot are from Christina, some are from Uriah and one is by the most unexpected person: Four. And here my phone rings. Uriah. I hesitate and I decide to not pick up. I just don't feel like talking to no one.
"Avoiding me?" I hear someone behind me.
I laugh. "I was gonna call you back" I lie. He just smiles and goes for a kiss. I let him, but there's something wrong. He looks nervous."What's wrong?" I ask. He starts to sweat. "Nothing. You look good today."
I smile and thank him. Few seconds later I walk away from him and go straight towards Christina. I want to apologize for not returning her calls.
When she sees me she runs into my arms.
"Tris! Oh my God I thought you were dead! What happened? Why didn't you call me?"
I escape a little laugh before answering. "I had to be alone for a while, but now I'm okay."
She hugs me one last time and we walk to our lockers. Four stands right infront of mine."I think you got lost." Christina tells him.
"Can I talk to you?" he asks me.
"Sure." He's about to start talking but he looks at Christina who's just beside me and she understands that he wants to talk to me only, so she goes away and lets me feeling more than unconfortable."I'm sorry about the other night." He stops to talk more quietly. "I called you to see if you were-" I stop him in the middle of his sentence.
"I know and I forgive you. It's not your fault and you did the right thing by refusing to be my friend. It would have put Lauren in a serious bad mood." I laugh. He looks serious. "Right..." He says. He almost looks sad. "About Lauren..."
I look at him curious to know what he's about to tell me.
"Nevermind," he changes the subject. "Do you come at my house after school to study like every monday?""Yeah... no thanks. I think all of this was a bad idea. It was a mistake. So you can go back to your old life and I can go back to mine."
When he hears this he doesn't react."What?" I ask. "You should be happy! No more Science books and..."
"And what? No more you?" He asks looking in my eyes for the first time today."Yeah! You no longer have to hang out with me. I thought you'd be happy!"
He cough. "Well, thank you, I guess. Goodbye Beatrice." He says and walks away.
I observe him strangely.
"Hey" Christina says behind me. I jump. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I lie. She doesn't look convinced but the truth is I am not either.
Why does he know my name?
