*SEQUEL* Niall Horan is my Mate (Part 2) (editing complete)

The Reason is You

Niall and I were in the back yard doing absolutely nothing. I was lying in a beach chair and Niall had his feet in the water of the pool. The back door open and there was a rush of kids jumping into the pool. Ashton, Storm, Starr, Colton, Luke, Masen, Calum, Michael, David, Dalton, and Dustin all came running out.

                "Hey momma," David said and sat in the chair next to me.

                "Hey baby, what are you all doing here?"

                "Just wanted to go for a swim. How is my little sister?" He asked.

                "So you want a little sister?" I asked with a smile.

                "Yep, I will be her protective big brother." He said with a smile and kind of puffed out his chest.

                "You are just like your father." I said shaking my head. He stuck his tongue out at me then ran and jumped into the pool. Calum came over and sat beside me this time.

                "Um, I have a question." He said shyly.

                "What's up Cal?" I asked.

                "Can you explain mates to me? I know Ashton and Storm are mates and Luke and Marie but I don't understand it."

                "Well, all mythical creatures, more werewolves and vampires than anything else, have mates. A mate is that one person that is always there for you and will never hurt you. You can also never hurt that person because in return you would hurt yourself. When you find your mate you can tell by his or her smell or sometimes just by looking at the person. When I found out Niall was my mate I was watching the episode when he auditioned. The bond between mates can sometimes be so strong where you can sense it even when that person isn't anywhere near you." I explained. He didn't say anything but nodded.

                "Um, Aussie," He said and scratched the back of his neck and wrinkled his eyebrows together.

                "What's wrong Calum? You can talk to me." I said. He mumbled something really quickly and really quietly, "Can you say that again?"

                "I think your baby is going to be my mate." He whispered. I didn't know what to say. I knew sometimes it was usual to have a mate that was so much older or younger than you but this kind of shocked me.

                "How can you tell?" I asked.

                "When I'm around you I get the slight smell of cookies and cinnamon. I also fell really protective of you for some reason." He said. I honestly didn't know what to say. I knew I would have to talk to Niall about this though.

                "Niall, babe, come here." I said. He quickly came running towards me.

                "What's wrong? Are you ok?" He asked, always worried about me.

                "Yeah, just you two follow me. We have something to talk about." I said, getting up and walking into the house. I walked to Adam's office with Niall and Calum following behind me. I opened the door and motioned for the two of them to go in then I followed behind them.

                "What's up Aussie?" Niall asked, sounding a bit worried.

                "Calum, tell him what you told me." He once again mumbled really fast and quietly, "Calum," I warned. He looked up at me then sighed.

                "Your baby is going to be my mate." Niall didn't say anything for a while but he soon had Calum pressed against the wall with an arm against his neck. His eyes were red with anger.

                "There is no way in hell my baby will be your mate." He growled at the boy. I could see Calum's eyes slowly turn from the dark brown his eyes already were to completely black, his newly discovered wolf ready to come out.

                "BOYS!" I said with authority in my voice. They both turned and looked at me. Niall's eyes showed that he was extremely mad and Calum's eyes were still black, "Niall, let go of Calum." I growled at him. He hesitantly let go of the boy, "You can't keep attacking our children's mates. I believe Calum is our baby's mate. He said that he smelt cookies and cinnamon when he was around me and he felt protective of me. This could mean that they will be mates. Yes, he will be older than she will but honestly in the supernatural world that is somewhat normal and bound to happen here at some point whether it was our baby or not. Some mates are older, it happens. The only thing you should be worried about is if something happens to him because it could hurt our baby. They will have a bond and they already have a little of one or he wouldn't want to protect me. You should be happy that someone will ALWAYS be there for her and will never hurt her." I said. He looked at me.

                "You're right; I'm really, really sorry Calum. I'm also sorry to you Aussie. I know that I could put stress on you."

                "It's alright," I said, "Now come on, I want some pancakes."  I said then walked out of the room.
