Being happy would be a mere understatement to savour the moment.
Both were ecstatic.
Both knew what they wanted.
Both knew what they were upto.
Both knew what they were doing finally.
May be it was dumb luck or fate deciding it but sure as hell they knew they wanted more.
As Absentmindedly Nandini was strolling down the corridor to reach her shift.
She found bit of unusual clamor near the office.
She didn't bother much and tried hovering through the crowd to reach fast.
But sure as hell she was one of the reason for the crowd there.
"Congrats Nandu. Finally you got your token outta here!''
Soon enough people hugged her and some sticked to classic handshakes and congratulated for her acceptance of her project and her fellowship in London for the next fall.
She had even forgot she applied there.
She had applied for so many tickets outta her place that she desperately needed one.
She had forgot all about that now.
It's all back to square one now.
But wait. It's not a square.. Just a vicious circle of sadness and happiness in her life.
She was about to make the lifetime decision of her life.
Way to go life.
She mentally clapped at the dumb fate for the luck and moved to the shift.
Uprooting her life and going to a whole new country was the plan all along and she worked really hard for it. She knew it.
But staying here and sacrificing every single sweat she worked for and regretting her entire life would be dumb choice too.
But personal life doesn't build on its own.
And people like him.. You don't get to meet every now and then.
As sweet as him..
As mature as him..
As hot as him ofcourse..
She was suffering in her own hell.
When she heard a hello to her back. It was the devil himself.
"So congrats I guess." He sounded pretty hurt.
"It's not like that. Just listen."
She didn't wanna create a scene In front of others and she just regretted seeing him hurt again.
The next 8 hours and 43 mins and 22 seconds was the torturous shift in her life not being able to talk to him or explain herself.
When it Was time to leave.
She just scooped through hell and dressed up and sneaked in his office.
"Manik" She huskily said.
"just listen to me once. I don't even remember applying to these schools or fellowships. At that time I didn't even think I had the possibility of getting in."
She moved in locking his door.
She hugged him tight.
Holding him tight. She whispered to his chest.
"I know I'm being silly.  I know this is fast. So fast. But I don't want to take some decision which would have worse repercussions"
She kissed his chest and started sobbing.
"No no I won't cry. I'm strong and I will find a solution for this. And for us"
He just kept numb and quiet.
"You are right Nandini. This is all too fast. May be we are going too fast.  Don't ruin your future over nothing."
"No. No. Don't say that for my own good. I know you better than that."
He cursed himself for this stubborn little girl knew him like his own.
She knew him so well in this short period
She just hugged him tight.
"We don't have to decide for a 45 days and we will come up with something"
He smiled at how she made it "Their decision" and kissed her head and caressed her hair.
For the first time they experienced what was something different from raw passion.
