Silk Screen By: Me

One of if the most difficult things
that a child can endure
is to feel the pain streaking down your face
the pain that others cannot see
for their eyes are screened with apathy

But in return for their callous ways
these spiteful people
expect generosity, and acceptance
and though there actions are harsh
they receive  what they expect

As this pattern rotates
the apathetic screen, that covers their eyes
thickens, until the screen becomes a wall
and their hearts slowly petrify
leaving a hallowed rock in its place

Still I stand for you
and offer my condolence in times of need,
and you always accept
without a second thought
not even a look back to see my pain
