Chapter 22: The new moon speaks

(Sesshomaru pov) I heard Yumi scream and began to run, I came to a stop at the sight of Naraku holding Yumi in his clawed hand. She looked worried as his grip tightened around her.

"Sesshomaru: So Naraku you have the guts to touch what is mine I see."

Naraku and Yumi gasped as they turned to me. Yumi smiled as we made eye contact while Naraku's face was filled with fear.

"Yumi: My lord you've come to save me at last."

Naraku growled as I cut off his arm that held my beautiful Yumi. The grip on her was released and before she hit the ground I caught her. She held onto me, pulling me ever so close to her as I watched Naraku flee.

"Yumi: Oh Lord Sesshomaru you were so brave. I didn't know what to do. I watched him kill Kikyo and I thought I was gonna be next."

She took a deep breath in as I wrapped my arms around her trying to comfort her in any way.

"Sesshomaru: I would never allow something of mine to ever be killed by scum like naraku. You don't have to worry about anything my love."

She lifted her head up, her cheek flushed and very red, but she smiled.

"Yumi: My lord you're making me blush... You've saved my life once again. How can I keep repaying you for saving me all the time my lord?"

I cuffed her face and brought it closer to mine.

"Sesshomaru: There is no need my angel."

Her eyes began to close, as I pulled her face closer to mine closing my eyes as well..............................

When my body jolted, my eye widened and the scene around me changed from a mountain cliff to a dark forest. I took a deep breath in and looked around, I relaxed and realize that I'm at our campsite. I see so that was all just a dream. I looked to my left and saw Suzu in her big form sleeping with a sleeping Rin on her stomach. Then Jaken out cold on Ah-un. I looked down and saw no one, Yumi was there earlier... I wonder what shes up to. I got up scanned the area when I was sure it's safe I followed Yumi scent to a creek. I hope this isn't another dream. I stopped when I found her sitting but the creek with her head down, her black hair covered her face. Yumi feels responsible for the death of that presticess, I told her it's not her fault. But she continues to blame herself. I walked over to her and sat behind her. She didn't respond, normally she can sense my presents, or is she just ignoring me? I put my hand on her back and began to rub my hand softly on her small back. She lifted her head and pushed her hair out of her lovely face as she turned to me. I examined her face, It seems she was not crying. But she was more in thought.

"Yumi: Sorry did I wake you?"

I pulled her into my chest. (no armor on) Yumi sat on her knees in between my legs and gripped my shirt as she leaned her head under my chin.

"Sesshomaru: No I was never sleep."

I felt her move, so I look down to meet her face.

"Yumi: You're a bad liar. I saw your face, you were out cold and smiling obviously have a really nice dream."

I smirked, At least I'm not dreaming anymore.

"Sesshomaru: As true as that may be. You obviously couldn't get some sleep and wander off, without telling me."

She looked away from me, gripping my shirt titer.

"Yumi: I had a nightmare was all."

I pulled her closer. I can't stand to see her like this. This isn't the Yumi I know, I want the Yumi I've grown attached to back.
