Chapter 38: Prove your worth

Chapter 38: Prove you're worth.
    (Yumi pov) I stood in front of the crystal demons skull like head and drew my sword. I glared at it, his beaming red eyes stared back at me, Inuyasha right next to me.
"Inuyasha: What ya talkin' about?"
"Yumi: You're body was used to hurt my sister, for that I'm gonna kick your ass."
The demon sighed, as if he was intrigued then spoke in a humorous voice.
"Hosenki: You truly believe you can cut me down, hollow human?"
I growled at his tone and gripped my sword.
"Hosenki: Even with the power of Yoso, you're still hurt. I can smell the venom of a dog demon seeping off your body."
'Yoso: He's not wrong Yumi, I wouldn't if I were you.'
'Yumi: Shut up, I'll crack this old geezers skull right in two. Just you watch.'
I heard the other gasp slightly, as I raised my sword above my head.
"Kagome: Sesshomaru really did hurt you, didn't he Yumi?"
I turned my head slightly and glanced at her then to Yuki who looked away from.
"Yumi: That's not the problem right now so shut up."
I brought my attention back to the demon, the sound of Sesshomaru attack Naraku filled my ears.
"Hosenki: You're resolve is revenge, hostess?"
I narrowed my eyes dully at his predictable answer.
"Yumi: This isn't about revenge. You're stupidity got my sister hurt and for that you have to be taught a lesson."
With that I used what little strength I had left and swung my sword on the skull, when it collided there was a bright flash. Pain spread through my body as little crystal shards impaled my body, I fought through the pain and swiped my sword down. Retreating my weapon back in it's sheth I took several steps back panting but a satisfied smirk appeared on my face as a large crack was left in the skull. Yuki ran to my side, I turned to her and smiled as Inuyasha came up to me and began to check all around my body.
"Hosenki: I thought I was going to pay human, or have you realized how weak you are?"
I smiled and turned to him as I put an arm around my sister's shoulder.
"Yumi: Finishing your ass off wasn't my intention, I made a crack in your armor and that's good enough for me."
We turned away from the demon and I felt Eremento Masuta pulse, I glanced at it for a moment but then turned my attention back to the fight outside. Nothing has changed which is really boring, and I could tell Inuyasha was getting annoyed by that factor. Is Naraku really on a whole other level than us? I know Sesshomaru is far from weak, if Naraku wasn't in that barrier he'd get ripped apart. Then again we can't kill Naraku yet, since his heart isn't in his body so it wouldn't matter. We need to get stronger... But how?!
'Yoso: Yumi you have just grew incredibly in power and haven't even noticed .'
'Yumi: What?'
'Yoso: Eremento masuta has obtained the Kesso Blade, next time you can fight I will show you how to do use it."
"Hosenki: Half demon, do you still have the will to fight?"
We all turned to him, as Hosenki and Inuyasha talked I turned my attention back to the fight, Sesshomaru was beginning to get annoyed by Naraku's cowardly ways. Then, Naraku began to attack Sesshomaru, his three lizard like tails came out of the barrier and attack Sesshomaru. To a demon Lord like Sesshomaru that attack was nothing, however when he cut through Naraku's body miasma filled the air. I face palmed and glared at the two idiots fighting, Sesshomaru's dull handsome face unfazed by Naraku's little trick and Naraku's smug smirk.
"Yumi: You gotta be fucking kidding me."
"Yuki: That's your husband."
I turned to her with a surprised look.
"Yumi: You still on me and Sesshomaru being together?"
She smiled that kind of cocky smile, thinking she knows something.
"Yuki: Are you kidding?! I can see it!"
As the others watched Inuyasha take on Hosenki, Yuki and I stood at the hole in 'Father dear's' corps and watched as Miasma began to make it's way to us. I shook my head as Yuki got her bow ready and began to clear the poison gas.
"Yumi: Inuyasha, if you're ass is gonna do something then hurry up!"
"Kagome: Why? what's- *gasp* Inuyasha! Miasma!"
"Yumi: Oh No, and here I thought it was cotton candy."
I said sarcastically, I rolled my eyes at her as she came up to the opening, Inuyasha turned to us as Yuki released another arrow, purifying the sky of miasma.
"Yuki: Inuyasha, you get Hosenki, I got this."
Inuyasha growled and began to swing tetsusaiga at Hosenki, I turned back to Sesshomaru and Naraku fighting. It wasn't long 'til Yuki was out of arrows and Kagome had one broken one left. I growled at not being able to do anything at the moment, I used too much power as it is, if I try anything else I might kill myself. Then, there is the factor that Sesshomaru doesn't seem to care what happened to us as he carelessly cuts into Naraku's body. I let out a growl as Kagome kept on calling out to Inuyasha, feeling light headed suddenly I walked over to Sango and Miroku. I sat down and Suzu came behind me to support my back, she nuzzled my face and i scratched behind her ear.
"Miroku: This is getting really bad."
I nodded in agreement and lend back into Suzu's soft fur, when kagome suddenly came up to me.
"Kagome: Yumi, you have to do something to help, me and Yuki are both out of arrows."
I closed my eyes and ignored her, Suzu hissed at Kagome and I heard her take a step back.
"Miroku: Kagome, I think you should leave Yumi be for now."
"Kagome: But-"
"Yuki: But nothing, my sister is hurt and needs her rest."
"Kagome: Well if she was so badly injured, why did she take on Hosenki like that? She wasted her strength unnecessarily."
"Yumi: wow 'unnecessarily', Kagome's using big girl words now."
"Sango: She did it for Yuki."
The sound of Inuyasha's grunts and the scent of his blood increased. The others went quiet until I heard Jaken and Shippo squeal in fear, I opened my eyes to see the miasma had spread more and had entered the corpse.
    (Yuki pov) I backed away from the entrance as the miasma inched it's way in the demon corpse, I looked to the others as Inuyasha finally stopped swinging at Hosenki. He's covered in blood, with cuts that were made from Hosenki's adamant, he growled and picked up Tessaiga. I walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder as if to say 'stop for a moment and breath' he nodded his head and turned to the opening.
"Hosenki: Turning your back on me, did you forget about gaining power?"
Inuyasha turned to him growled.
"Inuyasha: Shut up I'll be back for you later."
Then he lifted his sword to the miasma, then Hosenki's eyes glowed and spoke again.
"Hosenki: If you don't take my power now you will never become stronger."
"Inuyasha: Well maybe I don't want your damn demonic powers."
Then inuyasha swung his tessaiga but instead of a wind scar being released there was a bright light and the tessaiga was transformed. The long fang blade was covered in adamant. We all looked at it in awe, and then turned to Hosenki in shock.
"Yumi: What the fuck just happened?"
"Hosenki: He choose to fight for his friends instead of greed. If he continued to fight in greed the shards would have killed him."
I smiled and turned my head to Inuyasha who still looked a little bit lost.
"Yuki: Alright Inuyasha, time to kick some ass!" 
Inuyasha nodded his head and turned his attention to Naraku, who was still focused on Sesshomaru.
"Sango: You don't think Inuyasha would hit Lord Sesshomaru as well."
"Miroku: Yumi would probably kill him, if he did."
"Yumi: Damn right I will, I'll rip him apart for being a cock block."
Sango, Miroku and I smile at Yumi's words personally I'm taking it as a confession,  while Kagome groaned.
"Kagome: Can you stop saying things, that you would never say to Sesshomaru's face."
I shook my head and watched as Yumi gave Kagome a glare and walked over to the opening, looking for Sesshomaru.
"Yuki: Yumi feels challenged... This is not gonna end well."
Inuyasha snickered as I shook my head and watched. Sesshomaru stood on a rock pillar on the right side of us while glaring at Naraku, who is right in front of the opening. I walked over to Inuyasha, who was watching Yumi out of curiosity and whispered to him.
"Yuki: Don't get distracted by Yumi, keep you're eye on Naraku."
He turned and smiled at me with a thanks and waited as Yumi now standard on Sesshomaru side called out to him.
"Yumi: HEY!!! SESSHOMARU!!!! MY SEXY LORD!!!!"
He glanced at her for a moment and so did Naraku, I held Inuyasha hand as if to say 'wait for it' as he gripped Tessaiga tighter.
"Jaken: Don't bother Lor-"
Suzu steps on him and Yumi continues, as she runs a hand through her hair and smiles.
"Yumi: It's no secret I want to have sex with you right?"
The Gang (not Inuyasha) fell to the floor as both Naraku and Sesshomaru whipped their heads to Yumi who only smirked.
"Yumi: Well is it?"
Naraku was angered by this as Sesshomaru replied, in his deadpan voice.
"Sesshomaru: You've made it quite obvious."
Yumi smiled and blow him a kiss, pissing off Naraku even more, I nodded my head at Inuyasha who was enjoying Naraku's anger. I let go of his hand and he swung at Naraku sending giant shards of adamant at the irritated half demon but also, breaking through his barrier shocking everyone, as the shards had pierced Naraku's body. Leaving him vulnerable and wide opened for Sesshomaru who didn't hesitate to go in for the kill.
"Shippo: It broke the barrier!"
"Kagome: That's incredible."
"Yumi: About time Inuyasha did something."
Naraku grunted in pain as Sesshomaru went to swing when Naraku released more poison, I watched as Naraku was attempted to make an escape.
"Yuki: He's getting away!"
"Kagome: How is that possible?"
"Yumi: You all do realize he's interconnected with his incarnations right? With that said, he can use their bodies as a portal to get the hell out of here."
"Sango: How do you know that?"
"Yuki: What other secrets did you flirt out of him?"
Yumi smiled and watched as Inuyasha attack Naraku again slowing him down, Sesshomaru also went for the kill but Naraku continued to avoid the attacks. Suddenly, I felt a surge of power flow through my body along with a cold chill go down my back. I looked at the ball of miasma where Naraku is and saw a speck of light, The Jewel shard... I can feel it... I looked at Kagome, she's staring at Inuyasha with worry.
"Yuki: Kagome, can you feel that?"
She turned to me and shook her head in confusion.
"Kagome: what are you talking about?"
I growled in frustration, How could she not feel it!? I shook my head and saw Naraku was getting away out of the corner of my eye.
"Yuki: Yumi, what do we do?"
She glanced at me as Suzu hopped in her arms, with a sly smirk looked at Naraku.
"Yumi: What makes you think I have the answer, sweet sister?"
I looked down and felt the sensation of the shard grow stronger, as if it was calling out to me. I grunted, gripping my bow and jumped to Kagome and pulled out Kikyo's arrow from the holder. The other's gasped as I ran to the entrance and readied my bow, taking aim at Naraku's dark cloud.
'Kikyo: Even if you can't see your target, you're arrow can still hit it's mark.'
'Yuki: Really how?'
'Kikyo: Feel the dark aura and focus your own power on it, then once you feel it let your arrow fly.'
I felt the cold shiver once more and let my arrow go, I watched as it flew into the miasma disappearing for only an instant. Then a bright light appeared purifying the miasma and the sound of Naraku in pain filled the air.
"Shippo: Yuki did it!"
My mouth hung open as I watched Naraku practically blow up, but even with all that damage the bastard still got away and with the shard. I hung my head low as Naraku disappears, I felt a gentle yet strong hand on my shoulder, I turned my head and caught Inuyasha smiling at me.
"Inuyasha: Nice work Yuki."
I smiled slightly but turned to the graveyard sky.
"Yuki: Thank's but he still got away."
"Kagome: Not to mention with a jewel shard."
The sound of someone landing on the bones and footsteps coming closer filled my ears, I turned and saw Sesshomaru glared at Yumi as she walked up to us.
"Yumi: Doesn't matter, that blast definitely cause Naraku pain and a lot of it."
I turned to the rest of the, Sango and Miroku nodded at me with a smile.
"Miroku: She's right, so there's no need to feel down Yuki."
I smiled and turned to my sister who suddenly began to shout, Sesshomaru lifted her up and flew out of the corps.
"Yumi: PUT ME DOWN!!"
I sighed and turned to the others and shrugged my shoulders.
"Yuki: Guess it's time to go."
"Kagome: Why?"
"Miroku: Uh Kagome, Lord Sesshomaru is the only one who can get us out of here."
"Sango: And he doesn't look like he's going to wait for us."
Kirara transformed allowing Miroku Sango and Shippo to ride her while Suzu came back for me and let me and Kagome ride her while Inuyasha got onto one of the demon bird skeleton. We followed Sesshomaru who carried Yumi on his shoulder, Suzu was right behind him and I laughed at Yumi as she looked dull and bored and dead on Sesshomaru's back.
"Yuki: So how's it hanging?"
Yumi growled at me, before trying to reach out and grab me.
"Yuki: Aw sister why you so Angry?"
"Yumi: I'm gonna kill you."
I looked at her with an innocent smile as she growled again.
"Yuki: You know you love me."
"Yumi: Do I? Do I really?"
We laughed for a moment and noticed how quiet everyone is, Yumi lifted herself up and attempted to look at Sesshomaru.
"Yumi: Hey what's with all the long face's?"
"Kagome: We didn't kill Naraku, Yumi and unlike you some of us don't have time to waste on playing Naraku's game."
Yumi narrowed her eyes at Kagome and spoke in a serious tone of voice.
"Yumi: You really believe Naraku could have been killed here and now? How stupid can you be. Naraku doesn't have his heart in his body, so therefore he can't be killed. You idiots can keep on ripping him apart all you want and you still won't make any progress."
My eyes along with the others widened.
"Yumi: But today Naraku took and big hit thanks to Yuki, and Inuyasha finally got strong enough to take out the damn barrier, I don't know about you guys. But I say that's some damn good progress."
I smiled and turned to the others who also began to smile at Yumi's words. Yumi winked at us and then tapped on Sesshomaru's head.
"Yumi: Hey I'm suffocating in your fluff god damn it."
She was then pulled to his front, I'm assuming to be carried like a princess, Suzu wouldn't let anyone go ahead of Sesshomaru as we made our way through the gateway back to the living.
