Chapter 8

You stayed behind Mabel as the mall came into view. It took only minutes to finally reach the doors as all 4 of you took a step in. You breathed in the smell of mixed perfumes, fresh clothing and newly baked goods. The sound of people talking, rambling and walking filled your senses. Clattering of plates and cups from cafes.. The clinking of clothe hangers against the metal racks. You never thought you'd hear and smell it all again. A nauseous wave came over you, but you pushed it away. For the sake of Mabel and her friends. "Come on (y/n)! Let's get you a new outfit!" Mabel exclaimed, dragging you into a shop. Candy and grenda were already looking at clothing, showing each other for approval if it'd look good on them. You scanned the shop... Tank top after tank top after skinny jeans. You walked over to a tank top with 'Put a day between Saturday and Sunday' on it. Nope, that was not your thing. "Mabes, can we go to hot topic?" You whined, hot topic is one of your favourite shops. You always put up with the crowds and anxiety just to go there... "Sure! Hey candy and grenda, I'm going to hot topic with (y/n)" she yelled over at them. "Alright!" Candy said, smiling and a grunt of approval came out of grenda as candy held out a green tank top. You speed walked to hot topic, a quiet and favourable shop. As soon as you entered you stared at the new stock, t-shirts with nyan cat on them, sweaters with Undertale quotes and art filled the walls, t-shirts with memes... Ahh how much you missed the place. The person at the counter instantly recognised you and waved. "Hey, (y/n), oh my gosh I think you will love this new t-shirt that just arrived!" She squealed, as you walked closer. Once you reached the counter she pulled up a t-shirt that had a heart in the middle and up top it had '*i will forever be..." And at the bottom 'FILLED WITH DETERMINATION' you stared at it, eyes glistening. "Wow... It's amazing! I totally agree. I love it" you grinned, Undertale recently being your latest and new favourite game. "And these leggings go with it!" She pulled up black leggings, which had all the coloured souls in Undertale. Purple, blue, yellow, orange, red and many more. This is exactly why you loved the shop. "MABEL!" You yelled, seeing her by the front. "Yeah (y/n)?" She ran over to you as you smiled brighter. Anna, the female at the counter gave you the clothes as you put them in front of you. "You like? I think it's perfect!" You asked. "Even better than perfect! Here, I'll pay for it for you" Mabel was grateful to see you happy and finally restful and care free. "Thanks mabes" you smiled, hugging her. "Anything for a friend!" She passed the money up to Anna, and Anna grabbed the clothes back, paying them. "Thanks for visiting, and see you later (y/n)!" She handed the bag of clothing back to you as you slowly walked out the shop with Mabel going ahead. "W-we are going to go home now, we would like if you two came with us" candy stuttered slightly, wincing at every stutter. "I'm happy to walk with you guys" you smiled, standing next to Mabel. "Let's go then girls!" Mabel exclaimed, giggling and walking off already. You caught up to them, walking in sync. Minutes later you reached the mystery shack, walking inside to the smell of mash potatoes and gravy. You headed to your room and put your clothing on your drawer, sitting on your bed after. You were tired, and the sound of rain drops starting to hit the ground and roof as clouds rolled over lulled you to sleep.

WELP, that was great. And if I got anything wrong about hot topic then it's not my fault, there are no hot topic stores in New Zealand, but I know a bit about it since I have a couple friends in America and Internet did its best :3
