Ahh... The holidays. The time when family and friends get together, when people go away for a while, the time when people party it up most nights... Unless you are me. I'm (y/n), and as you are reading I'm nearly being slaughtered by a bunch of centaurs. (Get it? I used reading instead of watching because this is a Fanfiction and you can't watch fanfics xD) having grown up in a little town in Oregon known as 'Gravity Falls', I know a lot about this place, this isn't the average little town. There are mysteries, adventures and insane happenings. Monsters; from a demonic, flying triangle, to a tiny bunch of gnomes trying to kidnap a queen. The one place I love the most though is the mystery shack. In a way, I kind of live there. I'm there all the time, working, cleaning or just hanging out with Wendy, soos and Stan.
"Hey, kid, my nieces are staying for the holidays. They will be here soon, I want you to meet them.. Maybe make new friends" Stan said, nodding in your direction. "Ok Stan!" You replied back, while reading. You were reading a Nancy Drew novel, you're favourite one. You took a sip of your l&p (if you don't know/like l&p then whatever drink you favour), a tiny drop landing on your t-shirt. "God dammit" you muttered, putting the book down and wiping the drink of your t-shirt. Your t-shirt had "I'm just a -regular- nerdy girly" with "you are gonna have a bad time" in comic sans font, and in a smaller size underneath. It was light blue, too, which matched perfectly with your white shorts and flipflops (or jandals, whatever you call them where you live). You picked up your book once again and continued to read.
- time skip, 1 hour later -
As you were finishing the book you saw Stan walk outside. You heard laughter and thought he was probably talking to someone. "Heh, it great to see you guys again, kids" you heard him say. "I want you guys to meet someone" he continued. 'Oh god, that's right. That must be his nieces!!' Panic flooded through you. You were nervous and anxious, you have never been a social person. You continued to read to try calm your nerves. 'Dingling', the sound of the door opening. 'Keep reading, keep reading' you muttered in your mind. "(Y/N)!" Stan said, pushing the book down from your face. Sweat rolled down the side of your face, you were highly anxious and was afraid of having an anxiety attack. You looked, seeing two kids about the same age as you who looked quite identical. "This is Mabel and this is dipper" he said, introducing you to them. "HI! IM MABEL! OHH I LIKE YOUR T-SHIRT, LETS BE BESTIES!!" Mabel yelled, grinning. You flinched everytime she talked. You could feel panic rising, the trouble of breathing emerging. You ducked behind the counter, struggling to breath. You took deep breaths, trying to control it. "Dipper, Mabel. Go upstairs, I'll be there in a second" Stan muttered to them both. "Oki Stan.. Did I do something wrong?" Mabel's face was wrong with worry and sadness. "No, it's alright, hurry up now" Stan replied, patting Mabel on the back as she left. "(Y/N), take deep breaths. It's alright. I'm sorry, I should have warned Mabel about how anxious you are around new people. That's good, take deep breaths" Stan said, comforting you as tears rolled down your cheeks. You haven't had an anxiety attack since... Since when that customer got angry and started yelling at you. You finally started to gain more control over your breathing and got up. "T-thank you, Stan" you said, giving him a weak smile. "Don't worry kid, I'm going to explain to them about your anxiety and then you can show them around" "ok" you nodded, watching him walk upstairs. You grabbed your book and continued to read.(Thanks for reading the chapter, it was kind of long. Sorry if you aren't and anxious person, I just felt like this needed to be in and it suited the plot)
