STUCKRowan's eyes widened, her adrenaline kicking in once again. She turned to run away only to be met with a wall of fog at the entrance of the cave. Ro swore, turning back to the man who had held her captive just one hour ago. Bellamy grinned eyeing Rowan up and down, she narrowed her eyes at the Blake before a small voice interrupted their stare down.
"Bellamy? Who is that?" Charlotte walked out from her safe place behind the stone wall of the cave. Bellamy's eyes seemed to soften at her presence which Rowan was grateful for.
"My name's Rowan." She smiled when Bellamy failed to introduce her.
"You aren't from the Ark." Charlotte stated but it seemed more as if she was reassuring herself. Rowan nodded looking down at the cave ground. She still wasn't sure what Bellamy was thinking. She wasn't sure if he was going to take her back to his camp or even execute her. And if he was being honest, the oldest Blake had no idea what he was going to do either. He stared in shock at the forager while the three of them stood in uncomfortable silence. "Do you want to see the space we made?"
Rowan's eyes darted up at Charlotte's innocent face before looking over at Bellamy for assurance. He nodded, tilting his head for her to follow. Ro smiled when Charlotte stuck her hand out for her to take. The last few days she barely received any nice gestures, so she was overwhelmed by Charlotte's kind demeanor. It was a change from Bellamy's constant stolid expression.
"It's not much but it will get us through the night at least." Bellamy sighed, sitting on a rock sticking out from the wall. Rowan nodded standing awkwardly in the corner. "You can come sit, you know. I won't hurt you."
"Are you going to take me back?" Ro asked warily, not sure what kind of answer she'd get out of him. He shook his head.
"You clearly don't know anything. No use in keeping you locked up for nothing." Bellamy shrugged deciding her fate on the spot.
Rowan attempted to hide her excitement but failed when a small smile reached her face. She had missed her dysfunctional family back underground and wanted nothing more than to see them again. Charlotte sat cross-legged on the stone ground eyeing the older teens in the room. Both came from different places and backgrounds but we're still willing to help each other in times of need. This made Charlotte smile slightly which didn't go unnoticed by Bellamy.
"You look happy." He noted. Rowan snapped out of her daze, turning her attention to the small stranger sat next to her.
Charlotte nodded. "I'm starting to think the Earth isn't as cruel as I once thought." She sighed, speaking more to herself than to the two others in the cave. Ro's eyebrows shot up impressed with the young girls thoughts. She could only imagine coming from somewhere as tranquil as space and being introduced to grounders and reapers. Rowan didn't know if the hundred had run into the reapers yet, but she can only hope they haven't. They were practically a living nightmare.
