~♥Pun Masters♥~

~♥~

After bumping into each other and telling her I was a witch, Toriel and I agreed to walk and talk. I tell her of my life and the predicament I got myself into and she explains her life up until a decade ago. Apparently, she had lost her son and adopted daughter all in a span of 24 hours. I don't really show emotion much but she deserved my condolences. Losing your children like that, so fast and in such a way.....guess we have something in common.

Humans are despicable, vile creatures.

We walked until reaching a small house. She gestured for me to come inside. I had transformed into my original form and apparel a while back. I trusted her and she trusted me. So why hide my form from her?

She welcomes me inside graciously and offers for me to sit down. Well my feet were killing me and the pain from that fall was beginning to carry over from my skeletal form and surface so I was pretty sore. Naturally, I accepted her offer and sit down at a nearby table. A wonderfully sweet smell makes home in my nose. She must be baking something. And it smells delightful.

A bit later she comes out, holding a freshly baked pie in her oven mitt covered hands.
Me: "What is that? It looks and smells quite lovely."
Toriel: "It is a recipe of my own. Cinnamon-Butterscotch Pie. I thought you would like a piece and to just sit back and relax. You have been through a lot today, have you not?"

Well she was right about that. I nodded and she handed me a slice of pie. I took a bite and positively melted. Never once in my life have I tasted something so good. I scarfed it down while Toriel giggled at me.

~A couple days later~

I had been hanging out with Toriel for almost a week now. We've grown close, like 2 lifelong friends. We never ran out of conversation topics, we had some similar likes and dislikes, and we shared a love for nature. It was great.

Until I found the door.

I confronted her about it and she tried veering away from the topic. I hate when people dodge the subject. I kept trying to get something out of her until she finally caved. She told me to follow her down the stairs and I did so. While we walked, she explained how all of this has happened before and the constant death she has seen. When we come to the door she turns to me and says:

Toriel: "I understand that you want to see what is beyond this door. And I will let you pass. But you must promise me something."
Me: "Sure Toriel. What is it?"
Toriel: "Whatever you do.....Please. Spare those who you come across. Do not fight. They deserve to live."

I thought about it for a second. If what she says is true, then I won't raise my magic to bring harm to the innocent. It's not how I roll. So I took a deep breath and agreed to it.

Toriel: "Thank you, my child. You may pass through the door. I will miss you."
Me: "But aren't you coming? I mean come on Toriel. It's pretty lonely down here."
Toriel: "I will be fine child. I have grown used to the silence and loneliness. You go ahead."
Me: "Alright, Tori. If you say so. I'll miss you too."

We hug for a brief moment and then go our separate ways. I walk down a long hallway to another door and push it open. Immediately, I was blasted with cold winds and snow. Damn it. I transformed back into a skeleton and walked out into the cold forest. The door closes behind me and I'm left standing in the cold. I shrug and continue walking.

I then hear crunching footsteps behind me.

I turn around but there is no one there. But I know there is someone here.

Me (to self): "Alright. Where are you hiding?"

I continue walking, stepping over a branch purposely to see if the person following me will step on it and break it.

*SNAP*

Gotcha.

I whip around and have the person in my magical hold. They're not struggling and I can't see their face. What I can see is bony legs. Hmm. Must be one of the residents of the underground. I set him down gently. I think I took him by surprise.

???: "hey. what's the big idea? how do you know magic?"
Me: "I would ask the same question but I'd rather not get into that little lecture. Who are you and why are you following me?"

He hesitated but sighed and pulled back his hood.

Sans: "my name is Sans. Sans the skeleton. i'm a sentry in this forest. i'm on the look out for humans. who might you be? if i may be so bold."

I too pulled back my hood to reveal my bony form. He looks at me with surprise, as if he's never seen his own kind before.

"My name is Arissa Verdana. I am a witch. The form you are currently seeing me as is not my original body. It's just too cold for me to change back. I am not human. Well not fully anyway."

He's still looking at me in awe and confusion but nods his head, as if to understand.

Sans: "you know, it's not nice to FIBula about your identity."

Oh you've got puns, skelly man. Very well then. 2 can play at that game.

Me: "You know, you are absolutely right. ULNAver do it again."

His perma-smile grew larger and I got a laugh out of him. He walks over to me and holds out his hand for me to shake.

Sans: "it's very ICE to meet someone who finds puns HUMERUS."

I laugh loudly and shake his bony hand. A farting sound emits from his hand and we're both silent for a second. Then we both burst into a laughing fit and fall onto the snowy ground laughing.

I think Sans and I are going to get along just fine.
