~I've seen you somewhere~
I back up a little from this creature. Usually, millions of questions would flood my mind in a situation like this. But for now, it was just one.
How did he know my name?
I stay where I am as we both awkwardly stare at each other. I open my mouth to speak but he cuts me off.
Gaster: "You must be very confused as to who I am and where you are. Well let me help clear the air. My name is W. D. Gaster. I used to be the Royal Scientist for the underground. But I fell into my own creation and have ended up here."
Me: "When I appeared here, you welcomed me to the 'Void'. Is that where we are?"
Gaster: "Yes. I understand if you have questions for me so please, ask anything and I will do my best to answer."I start asking him questions and he gave me a logical answer every time. Then we got off the topic of questions and just talked about anything that came to mind. We laughed, told jokes, spun stories, we were having a great time. He then told me of his past, how much he had done as a scientist, how he was the one to create the CORE. I hadn't yet seen what this core looked like but the way he described it, it sounded very impressive.
I told him of how I ended up in the underground to begin with and he listened to every detail. When I spoke of 2 skeleton brothers, his facial expressions changed. He stopped me mid-story and asked me about how they were doing. He sounded concerned.
Me: "Oh they're doing great. Sans is super funny. He and I get along just fine. Papyrus doesn't like it when Sans and I tell our puns but he's amazed by my cooking skills and hard work."
Gaster was interested in hearing this but looks at me weird when I look down, saddened.
Me: "But I messed up. Undyne had come to see the new person who fell into the underground. Assuming I was human. She addressed me as a monster and I got heated, lost my train of thought and blew up on her, right in front of Sans and Papyrus. Sans snapped me back to reality but was not happy with what I had done. I scared Papyrus so bad, he won't come out of his room now. Sans beat the living hell out of me but didn't kill me. Something I said stopped him."
While listening, Gaster had become concerned and at the same time, a little angry at what I had done. I couldn't blame him. You hear about someone you know getting picked on or terrified, you'd be angry too. He relaxed after a bit and let out a sigh.
Gaster: "You always did have a short temper. Never really could control yourself after losing it."
Me: "Wait what? Hold on. what does that mean?"He walks over to a monitor and pulls something up on it. It looks like a memory. I walk over to it and watch.
It's....It's me!! When I was a kid!! How in the hell did he have access to my memories and more importantly, why?!
In the memory, I was sitting under a tree, messing around with my powers. I remember this. My mom had just told me not too recently that I had all these types of powers and said I would be a powerful sorceress one day if I just practiced. So that's what I did. Every chance I got to use my powers, I would take it. I thought it was cool. Anyway, I was levitating a stick when a group of these kids showed up.
Keep in mind, this was back in 1991 so technology was just starting to take the world by storm. But kids were still wanting to play outside. This was just before the war between humans and monsters, like a couple days before. Another thing to keep in mind was, I was not liked by the neighborhood kids. They hated that I didn't do the things they did like play outside. I was always inside, reading. Yes, at age 5, I was reading 13 year old reading materials. Basically, they hated that I was smarter than them.
