"Welcome back." Is the first thing that Jake ever said to me for the last 6 months.

I just nodded, I quickly look away from him. My heart was beating so fast as I scrambled to pick up by books. I picked the last book and quickly shoved them to my bag. Swinging my bag to my shoulder, I tried to hurry away, still looking down at the floor but his big body blocking my ways.

"Where are you going? You should know that I missed you. I mean, we missed you." He said to me, only to chuckle after that. The thought that they missed me was making me cringe.

I stayed at where I am right now. Don't know exactly what to do. That jerk Brody was probably the one who told Jake that I'm back. Asshole.

"You're not going to say that you missed me too? You're so rude." He said to me. Leaning towards me, I back away.

"Fucking deaf." He said, his voice raising. And then I heard someone calling his name but I can't tell who it is.

"Looks like it's your lucky day today, see you tomorrow, loser." He spat at me, pushing me to the lockers and then walked away. I stood there for awhile, trying to stay calm while waiting for him to be out of sight. After that I quickly walked to the school gate, waiting for Josh or Karen. The cold air of January hit me. A few minutes later but what feels like an hour, Josh came into the view. I smiled as he walked towards me.

"Took you long enough." I said to him.

"Sorry, the vice principal called me." He explained. "Its a student council thing."

"That's fine. Good thing that I'm not freezing here." I said.

"Shut up. Don't blame me because you could just wait inside." He said with a laugh.

"Well it's me who made the decision what I wanted to do." Well the real thing is that it is safer outside considering that Jake would come anytime if I'm still inside and here, I could scream for help.

"I bet you're right but stupid at the same time." He said. I laughed in response.

"So, No Cassie?" I asked to him with a smirk, changing the subject.

"Shut up." He playfully elbowed me.

"You already said that." I laughed then added "Where's Karen?"

"Oh. I forgot to tell you that she had to go to the mall. I don't know why, that's all what she said to me. She was in a hurry." He explained. I just nodded in response. "So how was math? Good?"

I shake my head. Sighing.

He seems to know why, "C'mon, I'll drive you home. It's pretty cold today, I don't want you to walked freezing. Plus, I want to hear your story." He said with a smile.

"Thanks." Is all I said to him. It does freezing outside, I always hate winter and snow because I can't bear cold air, but I just wanted to be save. Then I followed Josh to his car, getting in after it. He started turning on his engine, and the car stared moving.

"So, what happened?" He asked me after the car pulled away.

I told him the full story of what happened back in my math class. The way he looked at me, the way he talked to me, everything until the way he realised that it's me.

"Bad luck." Is all what he said to me.

"Thanks Josh, such a good response." I said to him, looking at the window.

He then sighed, "Can't you see that?" He asked me. What is he talking about?

"See what?" I turned to face him.
