I bit at my lip as it grew numb. I was in Chemistry, the period before lunch. Even though I studied for this test I knew none of the answers to the questions. Its like my mind just shut down completely.

The bell rung causing me to jump a little. Great, I get to stay in for my break. Everyone got up handing there test in while I sat there starring at my paper blankly.

"Ms. Rose?"

I looked up to see my chemistry teacher with an annoyed face.

"I'm almost done. I promise."

"Take all the time you need. I do insist on maybe a tutor for this class."

I rolled my eyes and continued to color the bubbles in.

"Oh Marcel. Good to see you."

"Uh Hey. Should I come back later or-"

"No its just Georgia finishing her test."

I looked up and sure enough there stood Marcel looking right at me. I awkwardly smiled up at him as he did a little wave.

"You two know each other?" Ms.Higgins asked as her eyes hopped from me to Marcel.

"Uh yeah. Were neighbors." Marcel said as he scratched the back of his neck.

"Isn't that lovely!" Ms.Higgins said excitedly.

"Yeah." I said. I wasn't going to get through this test if she kept going on about nothing.

Marcel sat his stuff down infront of me ignoring eye contact as usual. I don't get him? We've known each other for two days and the boy already hates the Shit out of me. What did I even do?

Five minutes passed and I was barely on the last page. Ms. Higgins had to pop out of the room for a second so it was just me and Marcel. I wasn't sure if I should say something or just shut my mouth and finish the test.

"You have a D in Chemistry?" Marcel said as he turned around to face me. He was holding a paper and a red pen in his hand.

"It's not so fun to get on Ms.Higgins bad side." I said as I continued to look at my test.

He laughed a little and shook his head.

"She's not so bad."

"Easy for you to say. You've only known her for a day."

"Makes since." he turned back around to do whatever it was he was doing. It bothered me still how he talks to me when he felt like it.

No matter how much I tried to be his friend he still treated me like I was just a neighbor.
