Chapter 1

Desirees POV

I had all my luggage packed into the car and I was waiting for my mom and dad to hurry up and get into the car so we could finally leave for vacation. We were from Vancouver and we were going to Florida for the whole summer. I wasnt to sure about it at first just because I wouldnt be able to spend anytime with my friends or boyfriend because I'd be gone. But then I remembered that my bestfriend from like grade 9 moved out here a year ago, so I contacted her and we had made plans to hangout while I was there. So I was pretty excited to get going.

It was only a half an hour drive to the airport because of all the traffic. We got there and I went and got a frappe from starbucks, my favourite was Java Chip, but I decided to get double chocolatey chip. I was addicted to starbucks. I had one pretty much everyday. It was insane.

I went with my parents and we went to a little side shop where you could purchase things for the plane ride. i didnt want to waste my money on getting stuff here. luckily my parents said they'd buy what I needed for the plane. All I got was some gum and a pair of earbuds. I was going to get a book but I decided against it because I had this cool app on my phone called wattpad and I was just going to read books off of that.

We got on the plane and it was going to be a 6 hour flight. It was going to suck ass. It was me, my mom and dad in a row together so at least I wouldnt be with some stranger. I put in my earbuds and started reading. It had been about an hour and then randomly I got a tap on the shoulder. I looked over and my dad looked at me and then up to the Flight Attendant. I took out my earbuds.

"Hello, would you like a drink or some sort of food?" She had the biggest smile plastered on her face. It actually kind of scared me. she had a bit of resemblance to the chesire cat.

"Uhm, yeah I'll get a mountain dew, and some pringles please." I gave a bit of a smile back as she handed me what I had asked for. I gave her the 5$ I owed her and then she moved onto the next row of people.

When we finally got off the plane I got another starbucks. It was sooo good. We got a cab and went to the house we were using for our stay of the trip. It took us a whole day to get out stuff all put away. I was so excited for tomorrow. I was going to be hanging out with my best friend from grade 9, Jaime. It only has been 2 years since we were bestfriends. So we were both 17 and going into grade 11.

I went to bed at 10:00pm and got up at 7:00am the next morning. Me and Jaime planned on meeting up at 10:00am at her house and then we would go to the mall for a bit and then she would introduce me to her boyfriend Kellin.

I met up with Jaime and we had gone to the mall. It was around 12:00pm and we grabbed lunch and started talking about her boyfriend that I was going to meet soon.

"So his name Is Kellin right?" I asked just to make sure I had the name right.

"Yeah thats it" she gave a little chuckle "he's very sweet and out going so dont be intimidated if he gives you a hug when you first meet"

"Thanks for the tip" I smied "how long have you known each other?"

"well we became bestfriends when I first moved here and then we started dating after a couple months, but we promised that we would still be bestfriends after we broke up" 

"awwe that so cute" I giggled

We finished eating and then we went back to Jaimes and waited for Kellin to come over. There was a knock on the door so Jaime went to the door and I went into the kitchen to get a drink. you can see the living room from the kitchen and they werent in there yet so I guessed they went outside. but I could hear them talking

"Hey kellin, I got a surprise for you!" Jaime said

"I have something for you too babe" Kellin said

I went back to getting a drink and I was making some ice tea when I Jaime called me, I went over to them and I saw his face kind of drop.

"sorry, I know im not exactly what you want or were expecting as a surprise" I mummbled.

I went back to the kitchen and finished making the ice tea and walked in to him giving her this beautiful necklace.

I didnt want to ruin the moment so I pretended like I was still getting my drink. I still kind of what he looked like, I didnt get a great look.

I decided that I had been in the kitchen long enough so I went to living room and sat on the opposite couch from them. I sat there for bout 5 minutes and I dont think that they noticed me. They were to invloved in whatever they were talking about. I got up and was just about to leave.

"Hey Desiree where are you going?" Jaime asked

"Oh, uhm. I was going to leave."

"did your mom want you back or something?"

"no, its just that im kind of third wheeling and I feel really awkward" I sheepily said

"Im sorry we havent really paid any attention to you. Come sit back down and then we can all chat." 

"Okay, but can I quickly have a shower here. Then you guys can do whatever while im upstairs." I winked at her.

"Yeah of course" She giggled

I went up stairs and showered and put my black skinny jeans with rips on them back on and my teal crop top. I borrowed some of Jaimes makeup just to put on a little bit of mascara and eyeliner and quickly put my hair into a messy bun.

I walked downstairs and saw them sitting there making out. It was pretty awkward. I cleared my throat because It felt funny and they thought I was trying to get there attention.

"oh your back."

"oh yeah sorry for stopping you from... what you were doing" I laughed

"Would you like to come to dinner with me and kellin and then go see a movie?" Jaime asked

"yeah sure. That would be great" I smiled.

Hopefully I'll get to know Kellin better. I know he's in a relationship with Jaime, but that will end sometime. Hopefully while Im here.

We went to Boston Pizza for dinner, and I ordered their spaghetti, with hot wings and dry ribs. I know it sounds like a lot of food but I dont really gain that much weight. Im 110 lbs. and I have been since last month. So Im pretty skinny. Anyways we got our food and started eating when Jessicas phone rang. She walked into a little corner and was talking with someone. Then she quickly left the restaurant. I was going to go after her but I got a text from her.

'sorry I had to go, my mom needs me. But dont leave! Get to know kellin, then it wont be so awkward next time :)' s

she sent the same one to kelling but she put my name in instead of his. We got talking about school and music, and we had quite a bit in common. We really clicked and became pretty close very fast. We finished eaing and we payed.

We went back to Kellins house to play some video games. It was a round midnight and I we were still playing games. I texted my mom saying that I would be home around 2. We played games till around 12:30am and then we put in a movie. We were sitting on his couch and he had his arm around me. In a friendly way of course though. I had my head on his chest and I fell asleep.

I woke up to Kellin whispering in my ear.

"Desiree, the movies over. Wake up."

I sat up right away and my head hit his chin. 

"ow" I said as a rubbed my head. he looked completely fine. We sat there for a minute or to talking before I left. He walked me to the door, and I said thank you for having me over. and thats when it happened. he kissed me. He actually kissed me! I was so happy. But thats when I remembered that I had a boyfriend.
