Chapter Nine: From Finding Dates to Best Friends

After a transfiguration class with Professor Mcgonagall she told us that the yule ball was coming up, a formal event on the twenty fifth of December. She told us that fourth years and above are allowed to attended. I was kind of disappointed when she said that but she then said that younger students can go if asked by an older student. Alot of the students were excited at this news, myself included. As we left class I notice that Harry stayed behind he later told us that Professor Mcgonagall told him that he and the other champions had to start off the event. During the next couple of weeks Ron and Harry were looking for dates but they couldn't find anyone yet, the twins were acting off and when Harry tried to ask Cho Chang to the yule ball she told him that she was already going with Cedric, which is we are now. "Harry, it's not his fault." I told him for the twentieth time today while following him to the Griffindor common room. "At this rate I won't find a date in time." He sighed then I said to him, "Hey cheer up,If worst comes to worst I can be your date if you want?" He smiled a bit saying, "Thanks Tiger, I really needed that." I smiled back telling him, "No problem." As we walked in I could see Ron with his hands covering his face while Ginny tried to comfort him. Confused of what we just walk into I asked them, "Hey guys, whats going on here?" "Ron just tried to ask Fleur to the yule ball." "Isn't she one of the champions?" I asked unsure Ginny nodded. "Oh." I said in realization. "Tough break, Ron?" Asked Harry. "You have no idea." He muttered Hermione started walk over to me when Ron asked her, "Hey Hermione, you're a girl. You want to go to ball with me?" Hermione the became a mix of anger and upset yelling at Ron then took my hand leading me outside. It was quite so I asked her, "Are you alright?" In order to try to lift some of this tension. "Yeah, i'm fine." Then she said, "The reason I grabbed you was to get away for a bit plus I wanted to know if you have a date yet?" "Um, a lot of people asked me it just....My cousin can be a bit protective over me." She nodded her then asked, "Do you know who? Well there were a few Ravenclaws, some Griffindors and Hufflepuffs and I think one or two Slytherins." "I think they did it as a joke." Hermione told me with distaste but I quickly defended them by saying, "It could have been by own we don't know." "I guess your right but speaking of your cousin it's not his choice if you go or not." "You're right but i'm sure which one I should go with." "Don't worry,Tiger. I'll help you." "Thanks Hermione, you're a good friend." The next day, Hermione and I went to see if anyone was still interested of being my date but it turns out that most of them had gotten dates already but at lunch the strangest thing happened I was getting my lunch together so that I could visit Myrtle in the bathroom but before I could a Durmstang student then approach me. "Can I help you?" I asked him he just looked at me then grabbed my hand asking, "Hello my name is Vladimir Atanas and you are most beautiful girl I have ever seen, will you go to yule ball with me?" I just stood there trying to comprehend what he was asking then when finally hit me I told him, "Y-Yes, I would. I-I mean will. I-I mean yes." He smiled then said, "Come with me." while taking my hand I was so embarrass that I wasn't paying attention to what was going on so when I finally came to focus we were at the staff table and talking to Jorden. 

                                                                                    Jorden's POV

I was doing my usual thing now, talking to Severus and watching Moody from the corner of my eye. I was messing with Severus when some "dumbstruck" kid came up to me. Confused I asked if he was lost cause his headmaster was over there talking to Dumbledore but to my surprise the little runt said, "No, professor Hohnsen, I wish to ask you your permission so that I may take out, the lovely Tiger to yule ball." When he finished my mind was racing, This kid was ether really formal or wanted to marry my cousin and at the thought of the later I wanted to kick his ass so hard but that brought up the question can I be arrested for beating the shit out of a miner? A voice then snapped me out of my thoughts, "Jorden? Are you alright!?!" "Huh? What? Oh yeah." I took a deep sigh then told them, "Listen kid, You can take her but know i'm watching you." He nodded then left that's when I notice he was holding my baby cousins hand. Severus smirked then said, "He seems like a nice young man unlike some I know." "Oh,Shut up." I told him annoyed.  

                                                                                Tiger's POV

After my cousin agreed to let Vladmire take me to the yule ball I grabbed my plate from before then headed to Myrtle's bathroom but before I could get inside Peeves started bothering me, "Little Tiger finally has a date. I wonder how many limbs will he break?" "Knock it off,Peeves." I said to him annoyed. "I am just telling you the truth. No matter how much it would hurt." He told me while leaving but I just rolled my eyes then headed inside the bathroom. "Myrtle? Are you in here?" I said looking around for her. "Who is it?" She called out popping out of her toilet. "Oh,Hello Tiger." She then said to me in recognition. "Hey I brought my lunch, what do you want to talk about?" "Well I heard about the yule ball so do you have a date?" "Well I just got one. He asked me before I went to see you. He also asked Jorden if he could take me." I said blushing out of embarrassment at the memory. "Is he cute?" "Myrtle!" "I was only asking besides it's not like I can go." "Why not?" I asked her confused she gave me a look then told me, "I can't go because I am dead." "Oh, I said sadly, I'm sorry." She put her hand on my shoulder I looked up to see her giving me a small smile then telling me, "It's alright, Tiger. I'm used to it but promise me that you'll come here when you're getting ready for the ball." I smiled back hugging her saying, "I promise."
