Chapter Ten: Christmas and The Yule Ball

(This is Tiger's dress for the yule ball but her hair is darker.)

While the holiday were just beginning, Hermione refused to tell Ron who she was going to the ball with although she did told me. Speaking of talking, she told all of us that Draco cursed her front teeth to be larger then they're usually are but when Madame pomfrey fixed them she also made them normal sized. Draco tried to bully her again but he ran away when Hermione said something about Professor Moody. I accidentally told this to Jorden at lunch because he wanted to see me about him since he's leaving again now he's using it to scare Draco more then usual,I even offered to hide him a couple of times out of guilt as well as annoyance to my cousin's behavior and surprisingly Draco accepted my help. Now, it's been a few days since Jorden left but what's odd is that it's Christmas eve and he's still gone. Hermione and the others offered me to join them so I then decide to take up the offer. I said the password to the Fat Lady and entered seeing them near the fire place, "Hey guys,What are you doing?" "Just relaxing, you?" "Well Jorden's not here yet so I was wondering if I could still spend the holidays with you?" They all smiled and offered me a seat on the couch. We talked, laughed and finally slept the next the day came sooner the expected because I awoken by two loud twins. "What?" I asked sleepily. "It's Christmas,Tiger!" Said George then Fred finished. "And you know what means..." "Presents!" They yelled together I yawned and gotten up to see everyone there, "Here." Hermione said handing me my presents, I smile at her then thought,Hopefully Jorden's back today. I sat with them while George and Fred tossed me a medium package, "This is from our mum." I opened the box for it to reveal an aquamarine colored sweater with tiger lilly on it. Which was odd because I didn't knew that Mrs.Weasley knew my middle name but then again my mom could have said it while we were there. I then saw a round tin filled of gingerbread men. I smiled then I notice another sweater type thing in the box. I took it out, to me it looked like a nice,royal blue scarf with holes in it, George and Fred were on the floor laughing,Ron had a look of a amazement with a bit of horrify and Hermione and Harry were speechless. "What?" I asked confused they all looked at me then Ron answered, "Our mum has never done anything like that before." "Maybe she doesn't like him." Hermione suggested suddenly the portrait open, "How's it going, kids?" Said Jorden while holding a few wrapped packages. "Jorden!" I said surprise. "The one and only, baby cousin. These are for you guy and I expect a thank you note from all of you little shits." He told us while glaring and setting down the packages. I opened mine to reveal a music box I open it up to see that it was playing "Fur Elise" by Beethoven, there was a heart dancing to the music. I smiled then looked up when I heard the others ask, "What is this?" I saw that Harry had gotten a similar looking dream catcher to the one I received last year on my birthday. I looked to my right to see that Ron had gotten a little stone figure, Hermione received a book called "The Legends of Wizarding Kind", and the twins had gotten slingshots. In my box the were two letters from my parents. The first one was from my dad, inside he wrote what each things was meant to do, I then heard laughing from behind me, "Oh my god! Uncle Allen made you guys his genie pigs." "He did not!" I argued then I explain to everyone what their present does,Harry's dream capture is suppose to capture his bad dreams and destroy them, Ron's stone figure could transfigure into any person or animal he wanted by holding it and picturing the thing he wanted, Hermione's book was my moms idea, I asked Hermione if she could sent her a thank you note because she's not really good at wizarding presents. "What do you mean?" She asked confused I told her how my mom is a squib and wizarding culture makes her self conscious. "Oh." She nodded her head understandingly. I moved onto the twins the slings shots were designed to never missed their target. The two then grinned from ear to ear as I read them his warning to them, "Do not use these on Hogwarts staff and do not tell your mother I gave these to you." Then they asked me, "Can your dad adopt us?" We all laughed then Jorden told me, "Before I forget I have these things to give you, One, put this away auntie gave me this for your dance and two, he hand me a package, This is from me don't open it yet and three this is from my mother." He said the last part with venom. "If you want you don't have to open hers. It's alright I want to." He just rolled his eyes and said, "Whatever, So what did you get?" "Well I received a sweater and some gingerbread cookies from Mrs.Weasley and a music box from mom and dad." "That's it?" He asked confused, "Well that's only what I opened so far." "Oh then by all means continue." I opened a box from Hagrid, it had some homemade fudge and a book called, "Wizarding Creatures Around the World and Where to Find Them." Jorden laughed saying, "He got you a book? At least they make nice fire wood." Hermione glared him to which he responded with, "Calm it, Granger. I'm only kidding." I then unwrapped another present from Professor Lupin, inside was a charm bracelet and letter I notice that Jorden was quite then he said, "Give me his address. I'm going to kick his ass." "Jorden leave him alone." I told him, "Whatever." He grumbled and I continued opening my presents, Sirius gave me a small carving of a wolf and a letter. I just smiled while shaking my head, then I opened the small package from my aunt Mallory, inside was a corsage and a short note. After that Jorden spent some quality time together soon I had to get ready for the ball I gave him a hug I notice he had a camera with him. "What are going to do with that?" I asked him suspiciously. "Don't worry. I'm only taking pictures of you and your friends, maybe get some black mail while i'm at it." "What was that?" "Oh nothing don't worry about it." "I hope not." I muttered while leaving. I quickly grabbed the box that had me dress in it then headed toward Myrtle's bathroom. She seemed really excited, She helped me with my hair and picking out the right accessories. I wanted to put on make up but Myrtle told me that it was best show my natural beauty so I didn't. once we were finished I looked into the bathroom mirror and I didn't even recognized myself, "Is that me?" I asked. "Yes and you have a ball to go to, have fun." "Thank you, Myrtle." I told her with a hug then I headed to the great hall.
