Gemini

"One plus one is two... two plus two is four... four plus four is.... uhg, this is summer. Why am I sharpening up on my math?" Oh, right. It's a stress reliever.

The past few weeks have been... hectic, one might say. Viola falls in a coma, I battled a demon, Paige is in the hospital, and Alex is talking about some demon-kid with marshmallow hair. But, now it is the time of day where all you can do is sleep, read, listen to music, or open mail; rest hour.

Of course though, I can only fall asleep when it is completely dark, I'm not going to re-read my book again, and I don't have any mail-

"Mail time, ladies!" One of the camp councilors walked in, "I have a large bag of mail for... Susan Strings!"

"Over here." I waved at the councilor, who through the bag of mail at me. "Here's something to do..."

I opened the first letter;

Gemini ,

Hey, short stack. How's Oregon treating you?  Told anyone about how awesome my cooking is yet? I have a big stash of banana bread waiting for you when you arrive back home. Your phone is blowing up.  Alexis keeps sending you pictures of this thing called Hetalia? What exactly is that? Explain later when you get home.

Hope you aren't being overprotective over Ajax! -Leo

P.S., Your Mumford and Sons tickets didn't go to waste.

Attached to the paper was a selfie of Leo and his boyfriend (I think his name is Jaxon or something like that?) at the Mumford and Sons concert... with the tickets I saved up for... I groaned and fell back onto my pillow. Oh well... At least Leo is happy. And hopefully he won't make me eat his god-forbidden banana bread. I opened another letter;

Sue!,

Your  favorite brother (Capricorn) is taking time out of his ever so busy schedule to write you a letter.

...

A letter made for the specific reason of telling you; DON'T FORGET THAT I'M THE BEST! Also I got that haircut I've been wanting for a while.

 ~Capricorn

Note to self; write CRAPricorn a letter filled with bad knock knock jokes. The next letter wasn't necessarily a letter, but rather a drawing. Drawn by none other than the twins; Aries and Libra.

We miss you, Gemi!  Was written across the top in glitter, below was a picture of two sloppily drawn stick figures next to a slightly larger stick figure, unnecessary amounts of glitter were spotted everywhere. I smiled at the picture, and put it to the side.

The next letter looked like it came from a government agency, which it was.

It was a letter from dad.

Sighing, I opened the letter and began reading.

Susan,

Although my role as a government official  makes me busy, I have found time to write you a letter. I simply wrote this to shortly sate; I found the source of the fire that killed your biological mother.

Apparently, while you were asleep, Heather was trying to fix the water heater. It ended up exploding, bringing her shortened life to an end.

You know the rest.

-U.S official of the deceased, Joseph Strings

I sniffed up some liquid pride and put the letter to the side. Way to make me sad, pops. I looked at some of the various burn marks on my arms and legs, remembering the day of the fire that almost destroyed an entire family. Shaking it to the back of my head, I opened one last letter. The address stated that it was from Alexis.

STRINGS!!!

Hallo! How is camp treating you? The Scouts miss you! Just wanted to write to say; come back soon, okay?!?

~Alexis!

From that point on, I began to write my replies.
