A few days had gone by since the farmhouse. Lizzie was very depressed and would barely eat. She absolutely refused to talk. Ariel figured it would be wise to give her some space for a few days. She knew her friend would have to come to terms with it in her own time. Lizzie was never good with change, and this was beyond anything either one of them could have imagined. Since Lizzie refused to talk or leave the glen, Ariel would go out and explore the area during the day. She had found some fields filled with delicious looking vegetables, as well as a few more orchards. She knew who they belonged to, and since the lady had been beyond rude to them, she didn't care one bit that she would take food from them for herself and her friend. She had made a spear out of a long stick she found with her knife from her time. She would use it to try and catch fish to cook up for them. However, since she wasn't so used to it spearing them was no easy task.

She would travel further and further each day exploring the area. She had found a small town to the east of them and to the north was a huge mansion. She only had been there once though. She felt a strange feeling when she grew close to it, and decided it in her best interest to stay clear from it. To the south of the glen was the farmer's house, fields and orchards. So then naturally to the west of them was London. Ariel had decided after Lizzie had come back to her senses they would have to go their. Perhaps find some work and maybe get some clothes to fit into the era.

She thought about it, 1887 in London, England. It certainly wasn't what she had expected. Though Lizzie was having a hard time coming to terms with everything, Ariel had almost accepted everything. She had to really, she needed to be strong for her friend and there was no point in worrying about it since there was probably no way for them to get back. The way Ariel figured it, when the bomb had gone off it caused a time rift. Both of them had been hit with the radiation which gave them their abilities and telepathy. The biggest question on her mind was, why in the bloody hell were they sent back to London, England in the Victorian era? They had lived in the state of New York in the United States of America. Shouldn't it have sent them back in time and landed them in the U.S.? She would think about this all on her walks trying to make sense of everything, but knowing she probably couldn't.

One night after Ariel returned back from her pillaging of a field, she found Lizzie sitting by the pond. Lizzie looked at her friend and gave her a weak smile finally speaking, "Let's talk now." Ariel walked over to her friend and put the food down. "So then, what do you want to talk about first?" She asked as she sat down. "Well I guess first I want to thank you for letting me have some space to figure it all out." Lizzie said as she kept her eyes locked on the water in front of her. "You're welcome chickadee. I know you aren't very good with change and this was a big one." Ariel said giving her friend a small smile. Smiling back Lizzie began again, "Yeah well, it is a rather big change. And I'm honestly glad I was able to come to relative terms with everything and not cause a tornado like last time." Giving a small laugh Ariel replied, "Yes that is a good thing. I was honestly nervous about that when you woke up." "Well anyway, I guess the next thing to talk about is what we are going to do now?" said Lizzie as her smile began fading away, "I mean, we are in Victorian England and have very little idea on how to act and everything." "As you know I've been exploring the area the last few days." Ariel started, "To our west is London as I've found out. I figured after you came back to earth, we could check it out and see about a job or some new clothes. At the very least we can hide in the alleys and watch how people interact and learn."

Thinking it over for a moment, Lizzie nodded her head in agreement with her friend, "I think that is a good idea. At first we can just learn how to act. Then maybe we can get a job and earn some money for the other stuff." "Good," Said Ariel giving her friend a bright smile. "Now then, another thing we will have to learn is controlling these new little tricks of ours. The last thing we want is to get pissed off at someone and do lord knows what to them." "That is very true, although it seems as if I am the only who keeps going off." Lizzie said with a slight frown on her face. "Well, maybe because I am water I am just better at accepting change? I mean, there was that one time I did freeze all the water in the glen here." Ariel replied shrugging her shoulder as she spoke. "Either way we both need to learn. You would blow people away; I would freeze them if I lost control." "Do you think we could use these powers to help others instead of probably hurting them?" asked Lizzie with a hopeful look on her face as she looked over at her friend. "Well I don't see why not. I mean you did tell me when I had mine show about how the water moved around. If we could learn to control them, perhaps we could use them for protection and everyday things." Ariel replied. "That sounds good to me, we should start tomorrow. It's too late now to start." Lizzie said looking out past the trees. The sun was already setting and lighting up the sky in the colors of dusk. "You're right, let's head in with this food now." Ariel said grabbing the food and getting up. "Alright, sounds good to me." Lizzie replied taking some of the food from Ariel and walking towards the cave.
