A few months had gone by since their first visit to London. Their days since had been filled with training their new powers, and learning more about the area. Lizzie was doing much better controlling the wind. She had even learned to lift herself off the ground slightly. With some more practice, she could probably be able to fly though she had a fear of heights. Ariel had learned to concentrate more on the water balls. They were now bigger and stayed together until hitting the target. She had also learned to make copies of people with the water. All she had to do was think of someone, and they would appear in water form. She had also learned a few new attacks with ice as well as regular water. Both of them had gained much more as well. They were both much faster with agility as the days went on. They could run at an inhuman speed now. If normal people had seen them, they would have looked like blurs to them.

Another power Ariel had seemed to acquire was the ability to make sound come out of the water. She had found out by accident one day as her and Lizzie were taking a break from training. She sat with her feet in the pond as she began to hum a song from their time that had just come to her head. After a few minutes of humming, they began to actually hear the song playing. Thinking they had both started to go mad for a minute, they finally found out it was the water that was playing it. The electric currents of her thoughts had traveled through the water and began to play the song she was thinking of in its entirety. They spent the rest of the day listening to songs she thought of. It seemed that even if she couldn't remember the whole song on her own, the water would just play the whole song anyway. If she had heard the song even once it was in her memory, and the electric current would just play it.

They could both feel something was very different with them now. As their training had gone on, and they advanced with their skills, they would notice that sometimes their normal appearance would change during training. Lizzie would sometimes get a faded pink colored hair and pinkish-gray eyes. Her hair would change length as well. Instead of being just past her shoulders and being straight, it would shorten to just above her shoulders and go wavy. Ariel would get long wavy forest green hair. It would go from between her shoulder blades to the very end of her back. Her eyes would turn a cerulean blue, and she would grow a few inches in height. The only way they could think to explain it, was that it was a side effect of the radiation when they used their powers. Ariel hoped that with any luck they could learn to do it on command. Who knew when something like that could come in handy?

Ariel had sensed that presence again a few more times since the first day. She noticed however, that it stayed much further back now. Whenever she would feel it come, she would stop what she was doing and look up towards where she felt it. Her own little way of letting who ever or whatever it was know that she knew all too well they were there. Sometimes she would swear she would feel it smirking back at her, in its own cocky way of saying it understood, but it just didn't give a damn. She still refused to tell Lizzie until she had her proof. Whenever she would catch Ariel freeze and look up out of the blue, Ariel would always smile wide at her and tell her some story so as not to worry her. Ariel knew whatever it was; it was watching closely and would appear sometimes during their training. She would always feel it watched her most though. She didn't know why, but it just felt like she could feel it was interested in her more.

They had gone back a few times to London to learn some more and, when Lizzie wasn't looking, to steal some food they couldn't get in the forest. They hadn't run back into the man named Adrian again. Ariel had found his shop one day when she was just wondering around the area. She had gone to London herself that day as Lizzie had decided to stay at the glen. Ariel didn't mind so much, it gave her a chance to get enough food without having to hear it from Lizzie. At least until she got back with her haul that is. She had been scoping out potential targets to steal from. That's when she just happened to wonder by the undertaker's shop. She thought briefly about going in to see him. She had remembered his offer of sleeping in a coffin. Sure a coffin wasn't really something meant for the living, but when you spend every night on a stone and dirt floor it was better than nothing.
