Nico felt useless, he thought he could close the Doors of Death from Tartarus, he was locked up in a bronze jar, he was knocked down in the battle with the twin giants, he failed to take out Percy and Annabeth out out of Tartarus and right now while the six headed hydra attacked the ship.

It was his time to patrol along with Hazel and Leo. Hazel told Nico to stay back. They didn't sound the alarm because everybody needed to rest.

Hazel was fighting with her long sword, and Leo was shooting fireballs to the hydra.

Nico had power over the dead, but not over Gaea's minions. The hydra kept throwing acid from it's mouth, they could barely dodge the attacks. They tried to kill it the way Heracles killed it, cutting the heads off and burning the neck before another head grow, it wasn't going very well, the hydra got in the ship with six heads and now it has fifteen. Hazel cut off it's tail and all the heads growled in pain.

Suddenly they heard a familiar voice "what is that noise! I'm trying to-" he saw the hydra and yelled "DIE!!!" coach Hedge charged the hydra and hung in it's back, " Valdez! If you're killing this thing, do it now!"

Suddenly, Hazel got distracted and the hydra sent her overboard "Hazel!" Nico shouted, and charged. This time, Leo was prepared, Nico cut some heads offand Leo burned them, they repeated that several times until there was only one head.

'Coach!' Nico shouted

'Go get the Archimedes' sphere!'

"But" Coach complained

"Go!"

And it was only Leo and Nico against the hydra. After fifteen minutes of slashing and dodging, Glenson returned with a sphere.

"How do this things work Leo?!" Nico asked

"It's a shrink ray! Just keep pressing the buttons and aim for the hydra"

Just as Leo said, it shrank turning as the same size of a mythomagic figurine.

"I think I'll keep him as a pet" Leo told Nico

"I'll call him Red"

"Let's save Hazel" "Coach go get Frank, and try not to kill my hydra."

"Fine" the Satyr said, and headed to the stairs.

When Frank saw that Hazel was missing, he said "where on Earth is Hazel?"

"She fell overboard on the battle against hydra" Leo answered showing him where she fell.

"Turn into a seal or something and save her!" Nico muttered.

"Ok wait here"

Some minutes later, a giant eagle landed on the ship with Hazel being unconscious.

Nico took her to her cabin so she could sleep. After that, Nico went to Percy's room. Since Nico wasn't supposed to come to this quest, he had no room, he could sleep in Percy's cabin or with coach Hedge, he obviously preferred Percy's.

He jumped to the bed to sleep.
