"And the sain." Dead. For the first time in months, my iPad died. Either me not going on it often or the magic in the school, my iPad stayed alive for that long, although it ended right at the start of imagine dragons Demons. I find that quite sad.

My bed was decorated with art that I drew. The once plain four poster bed was now almost like an adventure. I keep my blind thingies that close off my bed closed, all of my pictures spreading in the small space. They were all held magically to the fabric.

Our dorm room was a different story, though. We came from all over the world, so it is decorated with many things including flags from our separate countries. But we made sure that they didn't clash, so it looked like a rainbow of different countries with lots of red and yellow. It was like a world tour, you could say.

Everyone has changed in our first year, all better than worse. We all got along, and stayed up late, even with school the next day. Teachers had to put up sound charms around are room so we don't disturb everyone else in Gryffindor.

"Hey," Daina says, plopping on her bed, full of family pictures and toys.

"Hi," I reply, and the door burst open.

"OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!" Beatrice walked in the room, her curly hair bouncing as she 'shook'.

Cleo walked in behind her, followed by Marley and Sandy. "What happened?" Diana asks.

"Beatrice found what she calls news," Cleo answers, "but all it really is is gossip."

And Beatrice bursts out, "You know the person in the third row eight seats back in Transfiguration? She's a Ravenclaw, you know. Well, she just got asked out on a date by..." I stop listening as soon as she said that. Date, I mean.

Sometimes you have to listen to what Beatrice says, because in her brain, what could be gossip could actually be trouble, and someone else should know about it. Soon after Beatrice takes a deep breath, we all calm down. Right now, that scenario is getting to be quite normal as the school year goes on, and we all pretend to listen. Exactly when she finishes, she takes one deep breath, because somehow she could say all that in one breath of air. Totally nuts if you ask me.

Still, it's like roll call, and we're all used to it.

"Everybody out of Griffindor!" We hear somebody yell, and we all start scrambling for the door. Opening it, we see a giant wall of... Snakes, and shut the door right in their faces.

"Who is to blame for this one?" Marley sarcastically asks, although we all know the answer.

Later, the door starts to break under the pressure, and snakeheads are poking through the cracks. Our window is open, because when a snake comes through, we spin around and chuck it out the window.

Sandy and Beatrice are In the corner. Sandy was trying to coax Beatrice out so she didn't get hit if the door was to explode, but Beatrice shrank lower, and stuck tighter to the wall.

Soon Sandy gave up trying. We all know the door could explode any second, sending dangerous chunks of wood and not so dangerous snakes throughout the room.

Out of nowhere, Beatrice stood up and walked over to the door, and screamed. We all had to cover our ears, and the snakes all fell limp over the door. The pressure was to much for the poor door, but instead of the moving snakes pressure, the limp snakes caused the door just to collapse, and not spread any damage.

We all started laughing, including Beatrice, to how random this joke is. They were only garter snakes, and after all we fought for, it was really quite stupid.

We see the prefect slowly work his way up to our dormitory, clearing the snakes out the closest window, like we had.

When he got to the unconscious snakes outside our door, he gave us a questioning glance and asked a question, "what happened?"

"Brittany."
