Darkness

Exams were coming up right away, and everyone in the dorm is cramming their head full of knowledge. Recently, my head has a pounding headache that won't disappear, no matter how much sleep I get or medicine I take. I talked to Fred and George about it and they said that it will probably pass.

"Hey," Brittany asks, "what'll we do when we leave? Should we just owl each other, or do you think we can hang out?"

"I dunno. We're going to see each other in a few months anyways." I reply, almost excited to get the school year over.

Suddenly an owl crashed into our dorm window, but managed to cling to the ledge. I open the window and haul in Errol. God, he looked beat up. I unraveled the note that was tied to his leg. It was addressed to just me, from mom.

Inside was a picture. A note that was attached explained what it was.

"From Ginny and Ron, a picture of our family for you." It read, in neat writing.

The picture had orange stick people walking around the page. It was enchanted. They all had red hair, and three of them had dresses. I think it was Bill who waved at me. I waved back.

It was beautiful.

"What is that?" Sandy asked.

"That's my family," I tell her, and point out all of the names. "My real family."

"Cool. Diana, do you want to go study?" Sandy asked.

"I think we should all go," Cleo replied. Practical Cleo. Always looking ahead in life.

A chorus of okays followed. We took exams seriously. I reached into my trunk to grab a few books. History of Magic, Charms, and Transfiguration.

Outside in the common area, Fred, Greorge, and Lee were playing a game of wizards chess. A moan of disappointment was heard from Lee. "Why did you do that," he complained to Fred, "Now you're going to lose."

I smirked, but I didn't stop. Everybody was following behind me (Except for Brittany, she ALWAYS  leads), to go to the library. There, we found a separate table, and started working on our charms.

The quidditch pitch was crowded as everybody gathered to watch. The commentator (whom I don't know), was yelling at the foul play from the Slytherin's.

"I want to do that!" Lee yelled at me over the roar.

"What?" I yell back at him.

"Yell at the Slytherin's and not get in trouble!" He laughed.

I had to smile. Who wouldn't want to do that?

The ravenclaws were winning by 20 points, and the snitch was only spotted once. The sun was starting to set, and the breeze started to pick up. I shivered, wondering if there was going to be a storm. It didn't look like it, but you never know.

I suddenly felt lightheaded. It's just the change in tempature, you're fine, I tell myself. Next thing I knew, it was like the lights went out. I could hear everyone, and I could feel the closeness of other people and the wind, but I couldn't see.

I did what any other kid would do. I panicked. I grabbed Lee's sleeve (Or I hoped so) And yelled at him.

"I - I CAN'T SEE! CAN YOU?" Hysteria slowly creeped into my voice.

"WHAT?" He yelled back at me.

"I - I CAN'T..." And I fell to the ground.

Next thing I knew, I couldn't do anything.

I was trapped.
