Chapter 10 The field

Cora pov
We drove a little farther. Soon we hit a dirt road and we are surrounded by trees. I look outside as the winds blew my hair back. I smile because I might look like a dog. I heard Aaron chuckle, "I come here all the time to think. It's really peaceful."
"I bet it is." I reply. The sun and clouds are beautiful, adding to the breathtaking landscape. Aaron suddenly parks his car. He helps me out of the car like a gentleman. I giggle at this. He gets the picnic basket and he leads me a little field. There is a little creek in the middle of it. I gasp, "it's beautiful Aaron."
He smiles, "the best for a lady."
"Did you get flirting advice from Laurence?"
He was silent for a minute and blushed, "maybe."
I chuckle and he sits down a little blanket and the basket. I sit cross legged beside him. Aaron pulls out some juice and sandwiches, "I asked Dante what kind of food you like and he replied 'she likes Chinese food'"
I laugh, "it's true. But I like sandwiches."
He chuckles and he grabs a sandwich of his own. The sun is slowly going down, making the sky turn into a rainbow of colors. I smile, remembering sitting in a tree right before supper back on the farm. Sometimes mom would have to drag me from the tree. "Want to get a better look?" I ask. Aaron seems confused, "of what?"
"The sunset, dummy." I joke. I hop up and start climbing a tree. Aaron isn't far behind me. I reach the top. I hold out my hand to help. But his hand slipped. "WOAH!" He shouts. I slide quick enough to grab his hand. Fortunately, he's light and I'm strong. I pull him and Aaron looked like he just got hit with a bus. He had a scratch on his cheek and it was bleeding a little. I grab the corner of my dress and wipe the blood away. "But isn't that dress Cadenza's?" He asked
"She won't mind. She just said she likes it on me. It's to small for her."
"Thanks"
I kiss his cheek and his face turns bright red. "Better?" I ask
He nods, "b-better."
I giggle. He's always been so calm but now he acts like he is in a mission and its failing. I look into the sky and I swear I saw a silhouette of a woman. The hair was blue and she winked at me. She soon faded away. I felt something on my hand and its Aaron's hand. I look at him and smile. I intertwine our fingers together and his face turns into the same pink as the sky. I rest my head on his shoulder, "you afraid?"
"Terrified," he replied
"Tell me why,"
"I'm scared I'm going to mess up. Plus.....your the only girl I have liked in a long time."
"Oh." I had no words, "but you don't need to be afraid of me. I'm here for you and your here for me. And just go with it. Your the first guy that hasn't treated me like trash."
He paused, his skin tone normal now, "what do you mean?"
"First boyfriend: cheated. Second boyfriend: arrested. They dragged me into a relation ship."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."
We sit there in silence. The moon starts to rise and the array of colors start to disappear. I see fireflies start to come out from the leaves. Aaron starts to descend down the tree, As do I. He jumps to the ground. My foot slips and I am still pretty high up. "AHH!" I shout. But I don't feel myself hit the ground. I feel Aaron's arm around me. One of my arms are around his neck and the other is on his chest. His eyes sparkled the most beautiful brown. He smiled a little, "I caught you."
"I see that" I replied. He sets me down gently, but we stare into each other's eyes. The fireflies fly all around us, lighting the scene. I hear music play and I realize that Aaron had turned on a song on his phone (play song)
He started to twirl me and we walked around in a circle. One of his hands on my waist and the other holding my right hand. My left hand is on his shoulder and my right is on his hand. I let him lead because I don't know how to dance. Near the end of the song, he twirls me lightly and dips me. I look into his eyes and smile. A magnet started to pull us together. He sits me up, both my arms around his neck and his are on my waist. I stand on my toes and he dips his head down. Our lips collided and I felt a serge of electricity. It was gentle at first but soon the kiss had deepened. I was on my toes, the highest i could stand. We were so close. I don't think I have ever felt this way before. We broke apart after a few minutes. Aaron and I were gasping for air. We stared into each other's eyes again. "We should go. Dante is probably worried about you." Said Aaron
"Maybe." I said. He takes my hand gently and leads me to the truck. Every thing is a blur, I don't remember the drive back to my house. I'm guessing Aaron didn't either. He pulled into my driveway. I looked at him and smiled, "thanks Aaron. I had a great time."
He nods and smiles, "We'll do it again."
I nod and kiss his cheek gently. I open the door and go inside. Dante was watching a movie, "hey there sissy! How'd it go?"
I took a breath, "wonderful."
He smiles. I sit down next to him, "Dante! You told me you weren't going to watch this movie with out me!"
"Hey, Pixels was calling me name 'dante watch me! Cora won't mind'"
I punched him in the side. I let my hair down and it looked like a mess. It was near the end of the movie, "I'm going to bed sis. Night."
"Night," I replied. I got up too and went upstairs. I got my pajamas on and climbed in bed. I lay there staring at the ceiling. I sigh. Tonight was possibly the best night I ever had.
