The lunch room was crowded when Cara finally walked into it. She saw Eric and four other people sitting by their regular table and she decided to sit there as well.
"Hey Princess" Eric said when she sat down. How could he so calmly call her that in front of his friends?
She rolled her eyes and felt her cheeks get warmer.
"What are you doing here, new girl?" Olivia spat out and looked at her.
"Oh shut up Olivia" Another girl said as she turned to Cara. "I'm Melissa, this is Zack my boyfriend" she said and pointed to the brunette boy. "That is Leon and the friendly girl over here is Olivia" She said sarcastically.
"Hi guys, I'm Cara" She smiled. This Melissa girl seemed to be really nice.
"How do you guys know each other?" Melissa asked again and made a gesture towards Cara and Eric.
"We're in the same English class" Eric shrugged
"That's it? You have one class together and suddenly you guys are best friends?" She chuckled a little and looked curiously at them.
"I don't wanna be your friend, I wanna kiss your neck" Eric said, referring to the song they had heard in the car this morning.
Cara laughed and shook her head. "Why, is this one having trouble making new friends?" She asked playfully and pointed to Eric.
"Well as you can see, obviously." Melissa laughed "Just look, you are allowed to sit at our table and the whole lunch room gets quiet"
"Alright, I see your point" She threw a look around the room and indeed everyone was staring at them. "Why is that anyway?"
"Cuz we're the ones your parents warned you about" Leon added to the conversation and smirked at Cara.
"Something like that yes" Zack said
Melissa just rolled her eyes "Don't listen to them Cara, I have a feeling we're going to be great friends" she said, looking enthusiastic.

They finished eating their lunches but there was still about 15 minutes until the next class would start so that all decided to go outside.
The weather was very warm and Cara was happy that she decided on wearing shorts today.
Eric grabbed his packet of cigarettes and offered one to Zack and Leon who gladly took one.
"What do you think you are doing?" Melissa said, glaring at her boyfriend "I thought you'd stopped smoking" She looked furiously at Zack who just shrugged.
"Melissa what are you saying? It looks so hot!" Olivia screeched and slapped her friend on her arm.
"Cara you want one?" Eric said and smirked to her
"I can just take yours" She said and reached to get the one between Eric's lips, the same as she had done this morning.
The others just stared at the two of them, the boys looking amused, Melissa looking confused and Olivia looking quite angry.
"Where did you find this one did you say?" Leon slammed Eric on the back, laughing.
"I want one to" Olivia spoke up, challenging Cara.
"I don't think that's very sm..." Eric was cut of by Olivia grabbing the whole packet and putting one between her lips.
Olivia lit it and took a deep inhale making her cough loudly. She had a greenish look in her face.
"Are you okay? You don't look very well" Cara said but that just seemed to make Olivia even more furious.
"I'm fine!" She snapped back throwing the cigarette on the ground before storming inside the building again.
