Lexington, David and Hunter

( Somewhere , Tennessee)

A day earlier

we've been driving for days and I desperately need to shave and shower and sleep on a mattress , the guys have been very attentive to me and it is driving me insane so when I see a motel on the side of the road I make a sharp turn and I hear the boys scream in surprise as I park and jump out of the van and all but sprint into the hotel main office " hello" "Hello" when I clearly see that no one's there I grab two sets of keys and jog back to the van toss David a set of keys I start towards my room when I see that hunter has followed me I turn and say " yes? " raising an eyebrow . he just gestures towards MY room as if I should just carry on and I stop him " this is MY room get it" I say he looks confused "i thought this was our room so we could finally you know..." he makes a vague gesture with his hand " Hunter we .are .not .having. SEX!!!" I scream the last word and push him backwards. he stumbles but catches himself I am about to turn around to enter my room when I hear him grumble " I bet your sister would've done it days ago" I turn and again time slows and things fade away and then I am beating him fist punches kicks I don't care that I thought I loved him he has crossed the line , I hurt him I like hitting him I see blood and I grab his head and bring it down on my knee and I hear a satisfying crunch . I . Broke. His nose. he is on the ground now and I am just kicking him and crying .

For me.

For him.

For her.

and then I am being heaved up off the ground and strong arms are encircling my waist. David. he is saying something in spanish "calmate chiquita" someone else is yelling in Spanish it's really shrill and loud . Oh it's me . I am screaming unintelligible things that would probably get me sent to the principal's office. but I am so past caring . hunter gets up and again and he looks up at me then he grabs the keys out of David's hands and darts to his room to ice his face probably. David looks at me expectantly " I don't think he will let me sleep there tonight " I look at him and see that his hands are too close to my chest for my liking I jerk away from him and am released I turn to him and he circles me slowly like a predator "i will make you a bet chiquita i'll fight you. and if I win I get to sleep here until we leave this motel" . now I am pretty confident of my fighting skills but I am not that confident, but something had me saying " you're on " and strike out with my fist and he catches it and kicks out with one foot and before I fall he catches me around the waist and pulls me to him and slowly I mold to the form of his body then he kisses me . and I mean he kisses me. lips teeth tongue and those piercings... wow. he pushes me up against the wall and braces both forearms next to my head caging me he leans down and runs his nose from my temple to my ear and whispers "Gané" I win . before he kisses me again then he walks out the door back to the van and grabs both his and my belongings he brings them to our room .

David's POV

I . KISSED. HER . well that was an interesting development , I get to share a room with her and though i'm pretty sure I cheated I won the game. she walks into the bathroom and leaves her shirt at the door and closes the door. I walk to the door and lean my head to to the cold wood I then walk to the sofa chair that points at the window and start pulling the pillows off it I pull the cover of the blanket and start stripping to go to sleep the door to the bathroom opens and a voice says " cover your eyes , or you won't keep them for very long"i turn around and cover my eyes with my hands as I hear her pad to her bag a couple of items free then run back to the bathroom after I hear the soft click of the door continue setting up my makeshift bed after I finish I get in it and close my eyes and try to stop thinking about lex .

I wake up with a gun pressed to my temple and at the end of it a very pissed and broken faced hunter

Lex's POV

GET. UP . GET UP. I wrench my eyes awake to see 1 of 2 things

an almost naked David (boxers no shirt)

a stoned face hunter with a gun to David's head

i look at hunter to David to hunter again. then I make my decision "hunter" please put the gun down , I saw as I hold my pistol pointed at him and he turns to me shock-face " hunter, please put the gun down" my voice breaks and I know I am crying "we don't kill people who don't deserve it" "please don't deserve it" I cry . he sees me crying and turns his face more to mine "he is ruining EVERYTHING" he is crying now too " hunter please please don't do this".it feels weird that two of us are crying one of us hardly dressed and all of us are brandishing weapons some less deadly than others but it was bizarre to say the least.

Hunter hold the gun to david's head and i'm crying harder "what do you think is gonna happen if you shoot him?" I ask " do you think that I will want to get back together after seeing you shoot him?". I then hear a voice say "whoa what the hell?" I look over at the door and I see my cousin noah standing he raises an eyebrow at me and david raises his gun at him "NO!" I scream as I jump up and hug him tight "oh my god I am so happy to see you!!" he hugs me back for a secound then really hugs me digging his face into his my neck and I hug him back as well.

at that moment we hear a car and I rush to the window to see a yellow school bus, pull into the parking lot. after sitting there for a few minutes, a girl about my age with pink hair jumps out of the back of the bus, a tall Hispanic guy follows her out of the bus right after. Both with shotguns in their hands, the girl is also carrying a bat. They circle Hunter's van a few times, before peeking in. I rush to put on my clothes yelling at David to put on his clothes as well. "i'm going to the roof, David go down there and stop them Hunter you're with me" "I'll uh go down there too" Noah says looking out the window, smiling strangely ."Fine , just stop them" I pull on my jeans

i grab my crossbow and a shotgun and we start running to the stairwell. once we get on the roof I rest my gun on the crook of bricks the girl looks into our van and I shoot.
