Lexington and David

(tennessee, somewhere)

David is still holding me around the waist when both hunter and noah leave to claim sides of their room. he is still talking to me in spanish , it's nice to hear him speak spanish his voice is smooth and it sounds like caramel would taste. "you really hit her hard Mi reina" he called me his queen . "you are gonna have to settle on one term of endearment" I say and smile faintly. then I yawn drained from this highly emotional day "Ir a dormir hermosa" go to sleep gorgeous . " I like that one" I mumble and my eyes start to droop. and I fall asleep.

i wake up , and turn to the side because there is an extra limb hanging over my waist, it's obviously shirtless and covered in delicious muscle.i move to sit up and his hand slide down to wrap around I am sitting up now and I realize I am wearing his t shirt and boxers " David why am I not wearing what I fell asleep in?" I look down at him and he has this smile on his face that says "i did something bad ,but i'm not sorry". " we have to leave" I say and walk to the bathroom to shower. a few minutes later I am walking to naomi's room , David puts a reassuring arm around my shoulder a quick squeeze before she answers the door " she is laughing at something her boyfriend said, when she sees me, she hesitates for a second before fully opening the door to let me in I walk in and keep my hands up as "no weapons see", and Naomi gives me this smile that says 'ha ha funny' before walking back to her bed, where her boyfriend is sitting, bags already packed. "Just wanted to let you know we're leaving in a few minutes," she nods "i'm sorry I hit you" I say, eyeing her now bruised eye, that's going to get uglier, I think to myself. She gives me a small smile, "I guess I deserved it, just a little bit" she says, showing with her fingers just how 'little bit' she deserved it. I absentmindedly rub my ribs where she hit me ,We kind of stand there awkwardly, neither one of us saying anything, when Hunter walks in followed by Noah. Hunter shoots me and David a pained look.

"ok let's go, robbie we need to use the bus" I say addressing him, he nods, slinging both his and Naomi's bag over his shoulder, and walking out 'accidentally' bumping into Noah, telling him to "move, Dick." I strike out with my hand missing his head by an inch " you don't talk to him that way, we are a team and we could at least act one.""Oh we're a team now, I must have been sleeping when this happened" Naomi says from the side , I turn to her " you know what you were the one who suggested 'we could help each other out' or was that bullshit to stop me from killing you cause you know what, I wasn't going to anyway . it's not my thing." "You're the one who clocked me in the face" Naomi points out, "yeah I said I deserved it, but seriously, you are sensitive." I move toward her and David grabs my arm , Robbie picks her up, slings her over his back, and walks out of the room, "let's load this bus, and move out." ok so now I was so sure I did not like her. I turn to watch him carry her down the hallway, and out the door, I glance at Noah to find him narrowing his eyes at Robbie's back. I punch his arm, "spill," Noah shrugs, "about what?" "About what? What the heck's going on between the three of you?" Noah purses his lips, thinking of what to say to me, probably so I'll see things in his favor. " Noah I swear to god if you don't spill I will gut you like a fish". David narrows his eyes at me , I wave him off . "Well I went to Denver, and I saw them loot Big-Mart, a bunch of guns, so I followed them and noted their routines and shits, and when they left one morning I snuck in to steal their weapons, but they came back a bit earlier than usual, so I hid in one of the closets. I mean how was I supposed to know it was a towel closet, how was I supposed to know she was going to take a shower?" I raise my eyebrows at him, not really understanding where he's going with this. "Well then Naomi opens the closet, naked and all, and you know she saw me, so before she could get to her boyfriend, I got her an I was trying to calm her down, I guess I let my eyes wander more than they should have. But I mean, wouldn't you?" Noah looks at David for help, but he just chuckles "you're on your own man." Noah finishes his story of how he hit on Naomi when she was naked, and almost got shot in the process. I slam his shoulder with mine " not cool Noah". He snorts "whatever lex, weren't you the one whining to me on the phone about 'oh boohoo sera likes hunter and I love him oh boohoo' now last I checked Hunter never had piercings" I swing at him and then I look back at David who is raising an eyebrow at me. I open my mouth to make some sort of excuse , but he just shrugs and leaves the room. When he's gone I punch Noah in the arm "nice going, Ass," he just laughs and swings his arm around my shoulders and we both leave the room. "I think I'm in love, Lex" Noah says after a few seconds. I raise my eyebrows, "from seeing pinky naked?" I ask incredulous. "Not just that," he says dismissively, "the fight in her eyes, she got me pretty good in Denver, almost broke my nose." Noah says, stroking his chin, a smile on his face. "Hmm i never pinned you for a masochist" I say more to myself, remembering the kick to my stomach she gave me just yesterday. "You're like 17," I say trying to reason with him, love is a strong word. "I turned 18 two months ago, Lex" he trails off. I chuckle, oh brother.

Outside David and Hunter have already loaded the bus with our guns and ammo and clothes from our rooms, a stiff wind blows and I wrap my arms around myself to warm my body and just like that ,David is behind slipping his jacket over my shoulders and I never really noticed how much larger than me he was, his jacket dwarfs me and I have to fold the sleeves over twice so they don't cover my hands. we all get in the bus besides Hunter who mumbles something about wanting to take the van I look at him and smile hopefully before I say "ok" and we all roll out.
