I flew to the North Pole where the Choosing of the next Guardian would take place. I was so excited I didn't even seem to notice how cold it was. When I finally arrived I opened the doors to see everyone standing in a circle on the balcony overlooking Santa's shop. Spring looked up and beckoned me over, I'm glad she treats me like her sister. As I stood beside her I asked quietly,"Has a a Guardian been chosen yet?" She replied "No but I bet it will be soon, we've been waiting for awhile." As she said this dazzling moonlight began to come through the open sky window above us. Spring whispered to me, "Who do you bet it will be a lot of people have been betting on Winter." Of course, I thought no one even knows I'm here .Not only can kids not see Guardians ,but sometimes other Guardians can't see other spirits. I am one of those rare cases. The moonlight coming from the window started to crystallize slowly forming a girl with long hair at first I thought it was me but then I noticed her high cheekbones and the sweater she was wearing. It was Winter.

All of the Guardians began to cheer and clap. I was in shock I didn't understand, hadn't I been good enough to be a Guardian? But I decided to bury those thoughts for until I got home. I started to applaud as the elves began to play their instruments and Santa began to say the Guardian oath:

Will you, Winter, vow to watch over the children of the world?
To guard them with your life, their hopes, their wishes, and their dreams.
For they are that we have, all that we are, and all that we will ever be.
Winter spoke, "I will", everyone cheered and ran down to meet her as the elves began to play a lively tune.

After Winter took the oath everyone cheered and began to rush to the long table covered in food. I stayed behind to avoid the crowd of hungry Guardians. Then I saw Jack Frost approach Winter, I always thought they would make a cute couple ,but I knew Jack wasn't interested in her. All my sisters loved him ,but every time they flirted with him he would just smile and nod. You could obviously tell it was hopeless yet my sisters still chased him like lovesick puppies. I watched as Winter laughed loudly at what Jack said even though clearly it wasn't meant to be funny. Then I felt someone tug my arm and turned to see Spring pulling  me to the dining table. As I approached the table I noticed my Mother and Father talking to Sand man. I tugged Spring's arm trying to get her to notice our Mom and Dad. Spring then noticed and shouted across the room "Mom! Dad!" Then she ran across the room and jumped into my Mothers arms.I walked up behind them and said "Hi Mom,Hi Dad." At first they didn't notice but then my Father turned around and softened as his eyes met my gaze. He pulled me into hug and them my mother came around and hugged me too. I almost started to cry because I knew I would never be able to prove to them that I was a Great Guardian and worthy enough to work byside them. Them Mom said "It's ok darling you don't have to be a Guardian to make a difference." I sniffled and said "But Winter was the  last Guardian and now I will never get to work with you both." My Father then said " You can still work with us Autumn ,but you know everyone has different jobs ,so Winter might not work with us either." I felt better and decided to join them at the table to eat.

After the Feast I noticed Winter approaching me. I tried not to notice to her ,I was already getting used to seeing weird looks on the other Guardians faces when Spring spoke to me. But as Winter walked towards me she said "Autumn, how does it feel to be unnoticed and useless?" I didn't want to make a scene even if no one couldn't see me ,so I ignored her. However this didn't stop Winter, she kept coming towards me and other Guardians started to notice after all it looked to them like she was yelling at the food sitting on the table. She proceeded to ask me "What are you even doing here? Your not a Guardian and as you can see this ceremony is obviously for strong useful people not useless spirits like you!" That did it, I flew out the open sky window tired of being unnoticed ad neglected. I knew my Mother, Father, and Spring cared ,but none of the other Guardians didn't even notice. I don't care if I acted like a coward I had work to do if I was going to prove Winter wrong.
